Amazon Wholesale Catalog Analyst & Supplier Sourcing VA

SOV Retail Group is looking for an experienced Amazon Wholesale Catalog Analyst & Supplier Sourcing Virtual Assistant.

This is not a basic data-entry position. We need someone who has previously worked with an Amazon Wholesale business, can analyze distributor catalogs, identify viable purchasing opportunities, source legitimate suppliers, and contribute practical experience to improve our operation.

The selected candidate will work directly with the company owners.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. WHOLESALE CATALOG ANALYSIS

• Clean and organize distributor and manufacturer catalogs.
• Match supplier SKUs, model numbers and UPCs to the correct Amazon ASINs.
• Detect incorrect matches, variations, sizes, bundles and multipack differences.
• Review Keepa price, Buy Box and sales-rank history.
• Evaluate price stability, seller count, competition and Amazon’s presence on the listing.
• Estimate monthly sales and the realistic sales allocation available to our company.
• Calculate referral fees, FBA fees, preparation costs, inbound shipping, net profit, ROI and margin.
• Review minimum order quantities, case packs, availability, MAP and marketplace restrictions.
• Flag products involving hazmat, expiration dates, meltable inventory, oversized dimensions or other operational risks.
• Classify every analyzed product as BUY, TEST, WATCH or REJECT.
• Explain the reasoning behind every recommendation.
• Present the final shortlist in a clear and accurate Google Sheet.

A profitable calculator result alone does not make a product a good opportunity. The analysis must consider price history, demand, competition, seller behavior, Amazon presence, restrictions, inventory risk and all relevant costs.

2. SUPPLIER SOURCING AND ACCOUNT OPENING

• Research legitimate U.S. distributors and manufacturers.
• Verify whether suppliers accept e-commerce and Amazon resellers.
• Identify brands, product categories, territories, minimum orders and account requirements.
• Locate wholesale applications and relevant contacts.
• Complete account applications using approved company information.
• Contact suppliers professionally by email and telephone.
• Request catalogs, price lists, terms, MAP policies and e-commerce policies.
• Follow up on applications and unanswered communications.
• Record every supplier, contact, response, document, status and next action in our Google Sheets supplier CRM.
• Provide a weekly report showing leads, applications, approvals, rejections, follow-ups, analyzed catalogs and blockers.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• At least one year of experience working with an Amazon Wholesale business.
• Previous experience analyzing wholesale distributor or manufacturer catalogs.
• Practical experience matching UPCs and supplier products to ASINs.
• Ability to interpret Keepa charts, not simply read current values.
• Experience calculating net profit, ROI and profit margin.
• Understanding of Amazon referral fees and FBA fulfillment fees.
• Understanding of SKU, UPC, ASIN, FNSKU, MOQ, case pack, MAP and MSRP.
• Strong Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong spoken and written English.
• Experience communicating with U.S. suppliers by email and telephone.
• Ability to explain why a product should or should not be purchased.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Experience limited to Online Arbitrage or Retail Arbitrage does not qualify as wholesale catalog-analysis experience.

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION

• Part-time: 20 hours per week.
• Monday through Friday, approximately four hours per day.
• At least two hours of overlap with U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
• Starting compensation: US$7–US$8 per hour based on demonstrated experience.
• Paid practical assessment for finalists.
• Paid two-week trial period.
• Performance and compensation review after 60 days.
• Opportunity for additional hours and responsibilities based on performance.

We do not want someone who only copies information or depends entirely on automated software.

We want someone who can:

• Explain why a supplier is or is not worth pursuing.
• Identify false-positive products in catalog scans.
• Recognize missing costs and risks before recommending inventory.
• Explain what Keepa is showing and defend a purchasing recommendation.
• Share processes that worked for a previous Amazon Wholesale employer.
• Recommend practical improvements to our supplier and catalog workflow.
