At Peak Transport, our mission is to provide efficient and reliable transportation and logistical support. We are seeking a dedicated Box Truck Dispatcher to support our overnight Amazon operations. This remote role is critical to ensuring smooth delivery execution by maintaining clear communication with drivers and Amazon, proactively resolving issues, and supporting overall operational efficiency.
Peak Transport operates nightly box truck routes out of Amazon sort centers in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metro area, delivering to USPS post offices and DDU hubs across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and surrounding states. Our dispatchers are the eyes and ears of the operation — monitoring every trip in real time, documenting every issue, and ensuring our drivers complete their routes safely and on time.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Real-Time Dispatch & Driver Communication
• Communicate consistently with drivers during overnight shifts to monitor delivery progress and address concerns in real time
• Serve as the primary point of contact between drivers and Amazon for delivery delays, facility issues, appointment problems, and route disruptions
• Proactively identify and resolve issues that may prevent smooth or on-time Amazon drop-offs, including coordinating with Amazon ROC (Relay Operations Center) when needed
• Provide clear, calm guidance to drivers — especially on new routes, at unfamiliar facilities, or during equipment or weather-related challenges
• Manage driver communication across WhatsApp and work phone, adapting communication style to each driver's needs.
Amazon Relay Monitoring & Operations
• Monitor all active loads through the Amazon Relay portal in real time, tracking trip status, arrival/departure events, and load notes
• Understand Relay trip structure: tours, vehicle runs (VR IDs), facility codes, planned vs. actual timing, entry windows, and check-in statuses
• Review and respond to Amazon load notes and Late Truck Reports (LTRs), providing accurate delay reason codes and documentation
• Report delays and issues to Amazon ROC with clear, professional communication, including appropriate reason codes.
• Understand facility entry windows and proactively alert drivers when timing is tight to prevent missed windows
Track & Trace Documentation (Critical)
• Maintain detailed, real-time trip logs in Google Sheets for every trip, every night. This is the most important documentation responsibility. Your notes feed directly into our analytics system and must be thorough, accurate, and timely.
Data & Performance Awareness
• Review daily morning briefings generated by our analytics system, which summarize the previous night's operations, flag patterns, and highlight coaching opportunities
• Understand route profiles — know which routes are historically challenging, which facilities tend to cause delays, and which drivers perform best on specific routes
• Use driver performance context when managing the shift: if the system flags that a driver has struggled on a particular route before, provide extra support and check-ins proactively
• Flag new routes or unusual trip configurations to the Operations Manager so top-performing drivers can be assigned appropriately
• Contribute observations and insights that the automated system cannot capture — your human judgment and real-time awareness are what make our intelligence system complete.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• 6–12 months of dispatching experience, preferably in freight, delivery, or last-mile logistics
• Excellent written communication skills — your track-and-trace notes must be clear, detailed, and professional.
• Strong verbal communication skills for real-time driver coordination across phone and WhatsApp.
• Exceptional attention to detail — accurately recording times, facility names, delay reasons, and contextual observations throughout the night
• Ability to work independently during overnight hours (11:00 PM – 11:59 AM CST)
• Calm, clear-headed decision-making under pressure — when multiple drivers face issues simultaneously, you need to prioritize and act quickly
• Proficiency in Google Sheets (creating and managing comment threads, navigating multi-tab workbooks, basic data entry)
• Reliable high-speed internet connection, own laptop, and headset
• Quiet and professional work environment suitable for phone calls with drivers.
Strongly Preferred
• Amazon Relay experience — familiarity with the Relay portal, trip tracking, load notes, check-in/check-out workflows, and Late Truck Report procedures
• Prior experience with 26-foot box truck operations or last-mile USPS/postal delivery logistics
• 1–3 years of dispatching experience across any transportation mode
• Experience working with performance dashboards, analytics tools, or data-driven operations environments
• Familiarity with logistics terminology: entry windows, dwell time, pallet breakdown, bobtail moves, etc.
• Experience managing or coordinating with drivers who have varying levels of English proficiency
• Track record of thorough, consistent documentation in a dispatching or operations role
WHAT WE OFFER

• Bi-weekly pay schedule
• Performance-based bonuses and incentives
• Paid training on Amazon Relay, our dispatch processes, and the analytics platform
• Growth opportunities within a growing logistics company that is investing heavily in technology and data-driven operations
