We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Reconciliation Specialist who is comfortable leveraging AI tools and smart workflows to produce accurate, well-structured financial reconciliation outcomes.
This role focuses on monthly credit card reconciliation, with responsibility for analysing, categorising, and clearly separating personal vs. business expenses, and delivering concise reconciliation reports twice a month (mid-month and end-of-month).
This is an ongoing, ad-hoc role suited to someone who values precision, clarity, and efficient execution — and knows how to use AI to work smarter without compromising accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse credit card statements and transaction data using structured, repeatable workflows
Categorise transactions into clearly defined spending categories (e.g. business, personal, reimbursable, non-claimable)
Accurately split and track personal vs. business expenses
Prepare and deliver clear reconciliation reports:
Mid-month snapshot
End-of-month final reconciliation
Identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, or misclassified transactions and flag them clearly
Provide practical recommendations for corrections, reimbursements, or adjustments
Advise on required transfers or repayments between personal and business accounts
Use AI tools (e.g. for pattern recognition, categorisation assistance, anomaly detection, or report structuring) to improve speed, consistency, and accuracy — while maintaining human oversight and accountability
Requirements
Proven experience in accounts reconciliation, bookkeeping, or a similar finance-related role
Strong attention to detail and high standards for accuracy
Comfortable working with credit card statements and transactional financial data
Able to work independently, manage deadlines, and deliver clean outputs consistently
Proficient with spreadsheets and/or accounting software
Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools responsibly to support financial analysis, categorisation, or reporting
Solid understanding of business vs. personal expense tracking
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus, but not mandatory if experience is strong
Compensation & Working Arrangement
Hourly rate, commensurate with experience
Flexible working hours
Deliverables required twice monthly (mid-month and end-of-month)
If you’re someone who combines financial discipline with modern AI-enabled workflows, and you take pride in producing clean, reliable reconciliations, we’d love to hear from you.
