We're hiring an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support US-based businesses with invoice processing, GL coding, and month-end AP close.
This is a full-time, long-term role. We're looking for someone who has run AP previously - not a general VA with limited bookkeeping experience.
What you'll do
Process vendor invoices end to end: intake, verification, GL coding, entry
Perform 2-way and 3-way matching against purchase orders and receipts
Identify and resolve exceptions - duplicates, PO variances, missing documentation
Maintain vendor records and support new vendor setup
Prepare payment run schedules for client approval
Assist with month-end AP close, accruals, and reconciliations
Respond to vendor inquiries professionally
What we require
3+ years of hands-on accounts payable experience
Working knowledge of at least one of: QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Sage Intacct,
Solid understanding of the general ledger and expense coding
Excellent written and spoken English. This is not negotiable. You will be emailing and speaking with US vendors and business owners directly, without a manager reviewing your messages first. If your written English is conversational rather than professional, this role is not a fit.
Reliable internet and a quiet home workspace
Available during US business hours (specify which timezone you can cover)
Nice to have
Experience at a BPO or shared services center serving US clients
Exposure to multi-entity or multi-client environments
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related
What we offer
Competitive monthly salary, paid on time, every time
Long-term stable placement with one client
Direct work with US business owners and controllers
Growth into senior AP or month-end close work
How to apply
Start your application with the code AP-1104.
Send your CV along with short written answers to these three questions:
Describe a time you caught an error before a payment went out. What was it, and how did you catch it?
What's your process when an invoice doesn't match the purchase order?
Which accounting systems have you used, and for how long in each?
Please write your answers yourself. We're evaluating how you communicate, not how well you can prompt an AI.
