POSITION OVERVIEW:
We’re seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor with proficiency in QuickBooks and Xero to join our growing remote team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, a passion for mentoring and developing staff, and a desire to work in a dynamic and supportive team environment. This is a remote position with flexible work hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervision and Leadership:
- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accountants and other team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
2. Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to clients.
3. Bookkeeping and Reconciliation
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Oversee bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare financial statements and other financial reports.
4. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and report variances.
5. Tax Compliance:
- Supervise the preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
6. Software Utilization:
- Oversee the use of QuickBooks and Xero for all accounting functions.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy within these systems.
7. Audit and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
8. Communication:
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and financial institutions.
- Provide clear and concise reports and updates to senior management.
- Ensure excellent English communication within the team and with stakeholders.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Xero is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Experience in managing remote teams and working with US clients.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Efficient, personable, adaptable, and organized.
