We're seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our team remotely and take ownership of our accounting and compliance operations.
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Accounting & Compliance Specialist to consolidate and manage our financial operations and tax compliance functions. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with the CEO and build structured accounting processes for a growing American technology company. You'll have full ownership of the accounting function and the chance to implement best practices from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations
Set up and maintain charts of accounts for multiple business entities
Perform monthly reconciliation of payments, invoices, and accounts
Generate accurate and timely customer invoices
Manage accounts receivable and follow up on collections professionally
Process accounts payable and vendor payments
US Tax Compliance
Handle state tax filings including sales tax, use tax, and franchise tax
Ensure timely and accurate filing across multiple US jurisdictions
Maintain compliance with US state tax regulations
Coordinate with external tax advisors when necessary
Process Documentation & Systems
Document all accounting and compliance procedures clearly and efficiently
Create detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all tasks
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
Develop internal controls and maintain organized financial records
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related business course
Minimum 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Experience with US-based accounting systems preferred (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
Reliable internet connection and suitable home office setup
Preferred Qualifications
CPA (Philippines) or working toward certification
Previous experience working with US or international clients
Familiarity with US tax systems and multi-state compliance
Experience in technology or service-based companies
Background in SaaS or subscription-based business models
Experience creating process documentation and SOPs
