Company Overview
We are a dynamic business owner's, managing a portfolio of companies across multiple industries, including real estate rentals, house flipping construction, and online retail sales. In addition to our internal operations, we provide accounting services to 15-20 monthly clients. We are seeking a dedicated professional to handle comprehensive accounting and bookkeeping needs for both our personal ventures and client accounts. This is a remote-friendly role with flexible hours, focused on accuracy and efficiency.

Job Summary
We are hiring immediately for a full-time Accountant/Bookkeeper to manage financial records, ensure compliance with accounting principles, and support our diverse business operations. This salaried position is based on a 40-hour workweek, with payment guaranteed even if tasks are completed in less time. The role is not customer-facing, offering flexibility in scheduling, though client communications via email must occur during standard business hours (8 AM - 6 PM CST).

Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly reconciliations for all accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Categorize transactions, enter journal entries as needed, and apply sound accounting principles to maintain financial integrity.
- Handle accounting and bookkeeping for our internal companies, including a real estate rental firm, a construction company focused on house flips, and an online sales business.
- Manage accounting services for 15-20 external monthly clients across various industries.
- Utilize company email to communicate with clients regarding transaction clarifications or questions, always prioritizing clear and professional correspondence during business hours.
- Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies, with a strong emphasis on asking questions to avoid errors— we value inquiry over assumptions to ensure precision.

Required Qualifications
- Proven accounting knowledge and experience, including basic bookkeeping skills.
- Superior proficiency in QuickBooks Online, with hands-on experience in its features for transaction management, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Demonstrated experience in accounting for real estate transactions, such as rentals, flips, or related financials.
- Extreme attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (e.g., GAAP) and the ability to apply them effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with a willingness to ask questions frequently to clarify uncertainties.
- Ability to work independently in a flexible, non-customer-facing environment while adhering to email communication timelines.

Additional Qualifications
- Experience managing finances for multiple industries or client-based accounting services.
- Familiarity with tools or software beyond QuickBooks that support efficient bookkeeping (e.g., Excel for reporting).
- Prior remote work experience with a track record of self-motivation and reliability.
