Accountant, Client Accounting Services (Non-Profit and Healthcare)

Position Summary
AZTAC Financial Management Services provides client accounting services and revenue cycle management services for an array of clients. As our client base grows, we're looking for an Accountant to support our Accounting Manager in delivering accurate and timely bookkeeping and accounting services across a portfolio of clients. This position is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone who is comfortable working across multiple client accounts and tools day to day.
Key Responsibilities
Core client accounting services responsibilities include:
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple client accounts in QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop), including transaction coding, account reconciliations, and journal entries
- Process accounts payable and expense management through Bill.com, Ramp, etc.
- Support payroll processing and review using Gusto and/or ADP
- Assist with month-end close tasks, including account reconciliations, accruals, and preliminary financial statement preparation
- Maintain clean, well-organized supporting documentation for all client transactions
- Flag discrepancies, unusual transactions, or process gaps to the Accounting Manager
- Support preparation of client deliverables (financial statements, reports) under the Accounting Manager's review
- Help maintain and improve internal workflows and checklists as the client base scales
- Communicate professionally and proactively with the Accounting Manager on task status, blockers, and deadlines
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent professional experience / certifications)
- 2-3+ years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience (public accounting, outsourced accounting / client accounting services, or in-house)
- Strong working proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop)
- Experience with at least one of: Ramp, Bill.com, Gusto, or ADP – familiarity with all plus
- Understanding of accounting principles, including accruals, reconciliations, and US GAAP
- Comfortable managing multiple clients simultaneously with strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills for a remote, US-based team
- Reliable internet connection and ability to work U.S. business hours (or significant overlap)
- Self-directed and able to work independently in a fully remote environment
Nice to have:
- Experience with healthcare, human services, or nonprofit accounting
- Prior experience in an outsourced/client accounting services environment
