We run a program where people hire a "Boss" for their personal life.
Our members are building businesses, writing books, releasing music, getting fit. They already know what to do. They just don't do it, because nobody is expecting them to.
So we give them a Boss. You would be that Boss.
WHAT YOU'D ACTUALLY DO
You'd look after a few small teams, about 4 to 12 people in total.
Every week, each person tells you three times for each day: what time they'll wake up, what time they'll start work, and what time they'll submit proof of what they got done.
Your job is to notice when they don't. There will be a specific platform the check-ins will happen on (it looks like a regular chat for messages).
If someone doesn't check in at 7:00, you message them at 7:05. If they don't reply, you call them at 7:10. Friendly and direct, no lecture. Something like: "morning, missed you at check-in. what's going on today?"
The rest of the time you keep the team chats alive. Cheering people on, responding to their messages, seeing how they are doing, asking how the thing they were stuck on is going.
Once a week you run a 60-minute video meeting with each team. You would remind the team what everyone is working out, grade them on how they did with their performance (just like a real Boss) and facilitate the conversation. Most of the time will be spent by the clients talking about their obstacles and sharing this with each other, what they learned and how they are going to improve and asking each other for advice. Then, the next week's plan is submitted to you (specifically, when those three check-in times would be Monday through Saturday).
This is what you use for the following week for accountability in the same way described above.
WHAT THIS JOB IS NOT
- Not sales. You aren't selling anything to anyone.
- Not content writing or admin work.
- Not true coaching nor therapy though experience there does help. With that said, if a member is struggling with something serious, you tell us.
You are the person who notices, and follows up. That's the job.
THE SCHEDULE (PLEASE READ THIS PART CAREFULLY)
About 2 hours of actual work per day, 6 days a week, plus about 3 hours of video meetings per week.
But those 2 hours are spread across the day, sometimes morning, sometimes midday and sometimes evening. You need to be reachable at set times, and you need to be on time. Between those windows (around 14-hours), your time is your own. Most people do this alongside other work, and that is completely fine. We encourage it.
We are hiring for two shifts:
- Shift A (US members): 6pm to 6am Philippine time
- Shift B (Europe and Asia members): 6am to 6pm Philippine time
Tell us which one you want.
The first two weeks are heavier than the rest, closer to 3 hours a day, while members build the habit.
PAY
- Full workload is around $290 to 300 a month.
If you do a good job, and never miss calling someone out when they don't check-in, this pay goes up with time... up to $400 to $500 if you prove to be very skilled.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Reliable. This is the whole job. If you say you will message someone at 7:05, you message them at 7:05.
- Organized. You will be tracking 12 people's schedules without dropping anyone.
- Warm and easy to talk to. People should be glad you messaged them.
- Excellent English, written and spoken. You will be on video every week. No accent at all.
- Reliable 24/7 access to internet, with a backup, and a plan for brownouts.
- A good camera and microphone.
- Comfortable sending text messages and making short phone calls.
Experience in customer support, online English teaching, client success, or community management is a big plus. Coaching experience is a plus too.
HOW TO APPLY
Use the subject line: I'm the Boss
Then answer this, in your own words:
One of your members said they would start work at 8:00am. It is now 8:10am and they still have not checked in. This is the second time this week. When they joined, they told you they respond best to being called out directly, but they also get discouraged easily.
Write the exact message you would send them via text and if they still don't respond, what would you say to them on the phone?
Also tell us:
1. Which shift can you do? (Preference given to Shift A - US hours)
2. What other work you currently do, if any
3. Whether or not you can speak English perfectly.
