About the role
I run a small handmade brand making personalised baby products — embroidered blankets, knitted jumpers, soft toys and outfits, all customised with a child's name.
I'm looking for someone to turn my scripts into short-form video ads using AI video tools. This is ongoing work, not a one-off. I post consistently and I need a steady flow of videos, so if we work well together this becomes a regular thing.
You don't need to write anything or come up with ideas. I provide the product photos and a full script with timings, on-screen text and shot descriptions. Your job is to bring it to life.
What you'll be doing
Generating AI video clips from my scripts and product photos
Editing clips together into finished 10–15 second vertical videos (9:16)
Adding on-screen text at the exact timings in my script
Syncing cuts to the beat of trending audio
Compositing product close-ups I supply (embroidery, names) into AI-generated scenes
Delivering final files ready to post
What I provide
Product photos
A full script: shot-by-shot table with timings, on-screen text, and notes on what each beat needs to achieve
Real footage of product close-ups where needed
Reference videos of the style I want
Requirements
Experience with at least one AI video generation tool — Veo, Kling, Runway, Hailuo, Seedance or similar. Tell me which ones you use and which you prefer.
Strong short-form editing skills (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut or After Effects)
Able to produce consistent, realistic footage of babies and young children. This is the hardest part of the job. Some tools handle it badly or refuse it entirely, and inconsistent faces between clips make a video unusable. If you've done this before, say so and show me.
Clean, well-placed on-screen text — this is not decoration, it's the most important element in the video
Good English (you need to follow written scripts, but also add some creativity and have a bit of creative freedom)
Reliable turnaround and clear communication
Nice to have
Experience making ads for e-commerce or DTC brands
Understanding of hooks and retention in short-form content
Ability to composite real product footage into AI scenes cleanly
Familiarity with what performs on Instagram Reels and TikTok

THE TEST TASK
Below are three scripts for the same product. The product photos are attached to this post.
Pick ONE — whichever you think will perform best — and make it.
Do not make all three. I want to see your judgement as much as your editing, so tell me in two sentences why you chose the one you did.
A few things to know before you start:
These are Instagram Reels and TikTok ads. Vertical, 9:16.
DO NOT ADD ON SCREEN TEXT AND SEND RAW EDITED VIDEOS THAT ARE JOINED TOGETHER AS PER SCRIPT
The countdown beat (3 · 2 · 1) should land on the audio beat. (if thats part of the script you chose)
The baby's face must be well lit and facing camera on the payoff shot.
I'm not looking for perfect. I'm looking for someone who follows the script and has their own creativity touches to add to the video that could help sell the product and understands why the shots are ordered the way they are.
