ROLE OVERVIEW
Agency Geaux (AGX) is looking for an AI Systems & Automation Developer to build, integrate, maintain, and improve the technical systems behind the agency’s internal operations and portfolio of brands.
This role requires a technically capable developer who can work across software development, backend web systems, AI implementation, APIs, workflow automation, hosting infrastructure, and internal tools.
The developer will help AGX reduce manual work, connect disconnected platforms, improve system reliability, and implement practical AI capabilities. The role is not limited to maintaining websites or configuring no-code automations. It requires someone who can assess technical problems, design appropriate solutions, and write or develop code when existing platforms are insufficient.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain internal tools, scripts, applications, and operational utilities.
- Develop and support backend web functionality across AGX websites and digital properties.
- Design, implement, and maintain API integrations and webhook-based workflows.
- Build automations connecting CRM, project management, marketing, content, and administrative systems.
- Implement and manage LLM-based workflows, assistants, knowledge systems, and AI-supported processes.
- Integrate platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, GoHighLevel, ClickUp, Google Workspace, WordPress, and Zapier.
- Evaluate when to use custom code, APIs, no-code platforms, or hybrid solutions.
- Maintain GitHub repositories, documentation, deployment processes, and version control.
- Troubleshoot hosting, DNS,
- Monitor system reliability, errors, access permissions, security, and data handling.
- Support data movement, transformation, synchronization, and reporting across platforms.
- Improve existing tools and workflows as AGX’s operational requirements change.
- Document technical architecture, configurations, dependencies, and maintenance procedures.
- Provide practical technical guidance to nontechnical tea
REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
Strong software development and debugging skills.
Experience building API integrations and automated workflows.
Working knowledge of backend web development, databases, authentication, and hosting environments.
Experience implementing or managing LLMs and AI APIs in operational workflows.
Ability to work with incomplete business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Ability to identify security, reliability, scalability, and maintenance risks.
Strong documentation and technical communication skills.
Ability to work independently while coordinating with marketing, operations, and creative tea
Sound judgment regarding when a custom system is justified and when an existing platform should be used.

AGX needs practical technical infrastructure—not unnecessarily complex systems that become difficult for the broader team to operate.
WORK STYLE & AVAILABILITY
This is an active remote role with required collaboration during Central/Chicago/Houston time.
Candidates must be available to work synchronously during the window of:
6:00 AM – 11:00 AM Central Time
Pay is hourly and based on experience, starting at $6.50+ per hour
Expertise must be Intermediate or above
