JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a careful, AI-native technical operator to help maintain and optimize a local AI workstation running on Ubuntu/Linux.

This role is not a generic VA role, not just prompt writing, and not a pure coding role. We need someone who can use AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Hermes, or similar tools to troubleshoot technical issues carefully, document the work, and avoid breaking working systems.

Our current local setup includes Hermes Agent, Qwenny, Ollama, Open WebUI, n8n, Tailscale/RustDesk, local AI profiles, service health checks, backups, logs, and related automation tools.

Core responsibilities:
- Review audit reports and controlled fix plans before making changes
- Help stabilize Hermes, Qwenny, Ollama, Open WebUI, and n8n workflows
- Help maintain a Linux mini PC that needs to run reliably 24/7
- Inspect logs, services, ports, startup behavior, and configuration issues
- Help create health checks, restart/watchdog procedures, and reboot verification checklists
- Preserve originals and back up important files before changes
- Document every action in a clear change log
- Help improve AI agent/profile instructions and operating procedures
- Ask before risky changes and stop when something is unclear

Required skills:
- Comfortable with Linux or Ubuntu basics
- Comfortable using terminal commands with guidance
- Strong AI-assisted troubleshooting ability
- Ability to read logs and follow step-by-step debugging instructions
- Experience with automation tools, APIs, webhooks, or n8n
- Strong documentation and follow-through
- Security awareness around credentials, tokens, local files, and permissions
- Careful change-control mindset: inspect first, preserve originals, test, verify, then document

Preferred experience:
- Ollama, llama.cpp, LM Studio, Open WebUI, or local LLM tools
- Hermes Agent, AI agents, Claude Code, Codex, or similar AI developer/operator tools
- systemd services or startup automation
- Python or shell scripting basics
- Docker or self-hosted tools
- Tailscale, RustDesk, SSH, or remote-access tools
- Maintaining a local computer/server that needs to run 24/7

We do not want someone who randomly changes settings or reinstalls everything. The right person is careful, curious, honest about what they do not know, and willing to use AI tools to solve problems step by step.
