We don't run a traditional marketing team. We've replaced the old model of separate copywriters, designers, and CRO analysts with AI-native operators who use tools like Claude, Manus, and Cursor to produce the output of entire departments. If you're still doing everything manually and think AI is just "asking ChatGPT to rewrite something" — this isn't the role.
What This Role Actually Looks Like
You're not managing from a distance. You're hands-on, every day, building and shipping:
Designing and building landing pages on Shopify using AI tools to generate variants at speed — then testing them relentlessly
Running a constant A/B testing programme: offers, layouts, messaging, pricing, bundles, UX flows
Optimising upsells and cross-sells — testing post-purchase offers, cart upsells, bundle configurations to maximise revenue per session
Coming to the table with hypotheses, not waiting to be told what to test
Writing high-converting copy for landing pages and supporting ad copy
Working with the creative team to conceptualise new ad angles, scripts, and creative directions
Reporting on RPS (Revenue Per Session) as your north star, plus CVR, AOV, and upsell take rates
Who You Are
2–5+ years hands-on in DTC ecommerce with real CRO or growth experience (not just strategy decks)
You deploy agentic AI at a deep level — not just prompting an LLM, but building context-rich AI workflows with full product knowledge, customer avatars, awareness stages, and brand voice baked in. You should be able to describe a specific system you've built and the output it produced.
You understand direct response: offers, urgency, social proof, risk reversal, objection handling
Comfortable building and editing landing pages (Shopify, Replo, or similar)
Analytical and hypothesis-driven — you think in experiments, track results, and iterate based on data
You know what great copy looks like and can produce it (AI-assisted and expected — but you're the quality filter)
Self-starter who ships fast in a remote, async environment without needing to be managed
Bonus
Experience with A/B testing tools (VWO, Convert, Google Optimize)
Built or managed upsell funnels (ReConvert, CartHook, etc.)
Worked in sports, outdoor, home, or pest control DTC brands

$2,000–$4,000/month depending on experience and location
