AI Engineer - Build Our In House AI Workforce | Fitness Business

Part Time | 20 hours per week

The Opportunity:

We are a fitness business looking to build our own AI operations in house: our own AI workforce, our own code, no ongoing subscription.

We are hiring an experienced AI Engineer to design and build a team of specialist AI agents that live in Slack, connect to our core business software and take daily operations off our plate: lead response, member retention, reporting, scheduling, content and admin.

This is a builder role.

What You Will Build:

- A Slack based command centre for alerts, approvals and chatting directly with the AI system.
- A set of specialist AI agents, each with a clear job and clean handoffs
- Integrations into our existing software stack (CRM, calendar, SMS, Google Suite, Gmail)
- Automated dashboards and daily/weekly business snapshots from real data
- Approval-gated automation, so nothing customer-facing goes out without human sign off

What We Are Looking For:

- Proven experience building AI agent systems or LLM-powered automations (Claude, OpenAI or similar), not just prompting
- Real experience integrating APIs and automations with business software (Zapier/Make or direct API work)
- Ability to design multi agent systems with clear roles, memory and escalation logic
