JOB OVERVIEW

If you are an amazing AI Engineer with experience, then you should 100% apply here: ----------

We would love if you have experience uisng PickAxe.

Company: Speak Your Way To Cash® – a U.S.-based training and consulting firm that helps speakers, entrepreneurs, and professionals package, pitch, and sell their expertise. We are a small but mighty team (global and remote) known for innovation and long-term team retention. Now, we’re leveraging AI tools to scale our offerings and internal operations, and we’re looking for a full-time AI Automation Engineer to join us in this mission.

Position: AI Automation Engineer (Remote, Full-Time)
Salary: $1,000 – $1,500 USD per month (depending on experience) + performance bonuses
Timezone: Flexible remote (preferably some overlap with U.S. business hours; we are EST).
Contract Type: Independent contractor (long-term commitment desired; we pay monthly via payroll).

Why This Role?

If you are someone who deeply understands AI and knows how to build AI agents to automate tasks... if you have a great command of the English language and can communicate complex ideas clearly... if you’re intuitive, proactive, and excited about creating innovative AI tools that we can sell at scale to our clients... and if you're familiar with no-code AI platforms like Pickaxe (or similar) and various automation tools... then this is the job for you! ????

This is a unique opportunity to be the go-to AI expert in a growing company. You’ll help us brainstorm and implement cutting-edge solutions, customizing AI to our business needs and clients’ needs. We’re moving fast in the AI space, so we want someone who can get things done quickly and accurately. If you love the idea of building AI-driven products from scratch and automating away repetitive work, keep reading.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve both day-to-day maintenance of our AI systems and big-picture development of new AI-driven tools. Here’s what you’ll do:

Daily Tasks:

Monitor & Maintain AI Agents: Oversee all our deployed AI tools and automations each day to make sure everything is running smoothly. This includes checking that scheduled workflows (bots, scripts, ---------- scenarios, Zapier zaps, etc.) have executed without errors and addressing any issues immediately. Essentially, you “keep the lights on” for our AI systems so there’s no downtime for us or our clients.

Manage API Usage/Credits: Keep an eye on our OpenAI API usage, billing credits, and other subscription-based AI services. Ensure we don’t hit usage limits or run out of credits unexpectedly. You’ll top up credits or adjust plans as needed and make sure our usage stays cost-effective. (Think of it as monitoring the “fuel gauge” for our AI engines.)

Troubleshoot Problems: If an automation fails or an AI agent behaves unexpectedly (e.g., a chatbot isn’t giving good answers or a data integration breaks), you’ll investigate and fix it promptly. This might involve reviewing error logs, adjusting prompts or code, and liaising with support if necessary.

Client Tool Support: As we roll out AI tools to clients, handle any immediate support issues or questions that arise day-to-day. (E.g., if a client’s AI-driven dashboard isn’t updating, you’d check the backend.) Customer service isn’t your main role, but a quick daily glance at tool performance ensures client-facing tech is solid.

Weekly Tasks:

Develop New Automations: Every week, you’ll be creating or refining at least one automation or AI agent for our business. For example, you might build a new workflow to automate a repetitive task (lead generation, email drafting, social media content creation, data entry, etc.) using AI. This could involve chaining together services with ---------- or Zapier and integrating an AI API to add intelligence to the workflow.

AI Tool Research & Prototyping: The AI field moves quickly! Each week, spend some time researching emerging AI tools or features. (Maybe a new feature on Pickaxe, or a new OpenAI model, or an alternative like Cohere/Palm API, etc.) Evaluate if they could benefit our business or clients. You might prototype small experiments with these tools. For instance, “Could we use a new OCR API to process contracts faster?” or “Test out a new prompt technique for better chatbot responses.” Your intuition and curiosity in finding innovative tech solutions will be valuable here.

Team Collaboration: Attend a weekly check-in meeting (likely via Zoom) with our team to report on what you’ve done, discuss plans, and gather any new tasks or ideas. In these meetings, you’ll act as our AI subject matter expert, advising on what’s possible and helping refine ideas.

Weekly Report: Provide a brief report or update on AI syste ---------- trics – e.g., how many automations ran successfully, any i ---------- , usage costs, new opportunities identified. This helps the team (and management) stay informed of the impact of your work.

Monthly Tasks:

Strategic Projects: Tackle larger projects that span multiple weeks. For example, “build out an internal CRM system powered by AI” – you might not code a CRM from scratch alone, but you could implement a combination of a database + AI assistant that helps us manage client info. Or you might lead the integration of AI into an existing platform we use. These are higher-impact projects that require planning and execution over the course of the month.

Optimize & Improve Tech Stack: Each month, take a step back and analyze our overall tech stack and AI tools. Where can we improve efficiency or reduce costs? Perhaps we can replace a manual process with an AI solution, or upgrade an existing automation to be more robust. You’ll propose improvements. For example, you might say, “Our webinar Q&A could be handled by a ChatGPT bot fine-tuned on our content – let’s build that.” Then you’d plan and start implementing it.

Data Analysis & Iteration: Review data coming in from our AI tools (e.g. logs of chatbot interactions, lead conversion stats from automated campaigns, etc.). Use this data to identify areas of improvement. Maybe the AI agent you built for email responses is getting confused by certain queries – you’d notice that trend and refine the prompt or logic. Continuous improvement is key; you’ll treat our AI agents not as “set and forget” but as products that evolve.

Documentation & Training: Update documentation for the automations and AI systems. Write easy-to-follow SOPs (standard operating procedures) for any mission-critical processes. If some AI tools are also used by other tea ---------- mbers or clients, create quick how-to guides or Loom videos. Over time, you may also train other tea ---------- mbers (or even a junior assistant) to monitor basic things – but you’ll be the expert they escalate to. Solid documentation will also help onboard future hires under you as our AI team grows.

Quarterly Tasks:

Innovation & Product Development: Every quarter, work with leadership to brainstorm new AI-driven products or services we can offer to clients (or sell as standalone). Since you’ll be in the AI trenches, we’ll look to you for ideas like, “Hey, I think our client base of professional speakers could use an AI tool that auto-generates speaking engagement pitches.” We’ll evaluate these ideas and, once d ---------- , you’ll lead the building of a prototype or MVP. This is how your work directly drives new revenue streams for the company.

System Audit & Tech Strategy: Conduct a thorough audit of our tech infrastructure and security pertaining to AI systems. Are our workflows and data secure? Are we following best practices (especially if handling client data)? Also, assess the costs vs. ROI of our AI initiatives. Present a short strategy memo on what to focus on in the next quarter. Essentially, you’ll function as our AI Officer in advising the company on how to stay ahead with technology.

Performance Review & Goals: Each quarter, you’ll participate in a performance review with our CEO/COO. This is a two-way discussion: we’ll review your accomplishments (and likely give a bonus if we’ve hit certain milestones, like our first 1,000 sales of an AI tool you built). We’ll also set goals for the next quarter – e.g., “implement AI-driven chatbot on website by Q2” or “reduce manual workflow time by 50% via automation.” This is also your chance to discuss any support or resources you need. We highly value continuous improvement, and strong performers are rewarded with both bonuses and pay increases during these reviews (we want you to grow with us!).

Required Skills & Qualifications

AI & Automation Expertise: Proven experience building or managing AI-driven tools or bots. You should be comfortable with concepts like large language models, prompt engineering, and using AI APIs (especially OpenAI’s). Hands-on experience with automation platforms is a must – for example, building workflows in Zapier, ---------- (formerly Integromat), or similar tools. Familiarity with Pickaxe (a no-code platform to build and sell AI products
pickaxe.co
) is a huge plus – if you haven’t used it, you should be eager to learn it fast. Experience with any RPA (robotic process automation) tools or scripts for repetitive tasks would also be useful.

Programming Knowledge: While much of our work can be done with no-code or low-code tools, a solid grasp of at least one programming/scripting language is important for flexibility. Python or JavaScript skills are highly preferred – e.g., to write custom scripts or integrate APIs beyond what no-code tools can do. You don’t need to be a software architect, but you should be able to read/write code to solve automation challenges (such as parsing data, calling an HTTP endpoint, etc.). Experience with databases or building simple web apps is a bonus (since we might create internal tools that require storing and retrieving data).

Tool Familiarity: You should either be familiar with, or capable of quickly learning, the following:

OpenAI (and similar) APIs: You know how to use APIs for GPT-4, etc., and handle things like API keys, rate limits, prompt design for quality output, etc.

Automation Platforms: e.g., Zapier (popular automation tool), ---------- (visual workflow builder) – setting up triggers, actions, and integrations across web apps. If you have used others like n8n, Microsoft Power Automate, or Workato – that works too. We heavily use these to connect different software.

Webhook & API Integration: Understand how to connect two systems via API calls or webhooks. For instance, sending form data to an AI service and then the result into our CRM. Even if using no-code tools, you should grasp what’s happening under the hood.

Pickaxe Platform: (Preferred) Experience with Pickaxe, which is a no-code platform for building and monetizing AI tools
pickaxe.co
. We plan to use Pickaxe to create AI agents that we can potentially sell to our clients (e.g., a branded chatbot or a content generator specific to our industry). If you haven’t used Pickaxe, you should at least read up on it and be willing to become our in-house Pickaxe expert quickly.

General SaaS Tools: Comfort with a variety of software-as-a-service platforms. For example, you might need to integrate a chatbot with Slack or set up an automation between our e-commerce platform and an AI service. If you’ve “seen one, you’ve seen them all” – meaning, an ability to quickly figure out new tools by exploring documentation and trial-and-error.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: You’ll be tackling open-ended problems (“How can we automate this process?”). This requires a logical mindset and creativity. When something goes wrong, you need to troubleshoot systematically. Perhaps an AI output is off – you hypothesize why (bad prompt? insufficient training data? API error?) and iterate to fix it. The more experience you have in solving technical problems, the better. Show us that you can think on your feet.

Communication Skills (English): You must have excellent English reading and writing skills
----------
. Since we’re an English-speaking company and many of our clients are in the U.S., being able to articulate your thoughts clearly is non-negotiable. You’ll be writing documentation and sometimes explaining tech concepts to non-tech tea ---------- mbers, so clarity and good grammar matter. Also, a professional, friendly demeanor in communication is important – we’re a small team and often interact across departments. If you can jump on a Zoom call and explain what you’re doing to our CEO in plain English, you’re golden.

Self-Motivated & Fast Learner: We truly need someone who can take initiative. That means spotting opportunities for improvement without being told, and keeping up with new AI trends/tools. The AI field in 2025 is evolving weekly – you should genuinely enjoy learning new things. There will be times you have to figure stuff out with minimal guidance (though we’re always here to support when needed). If you love that autonomy and have a track record of teaching yourself new tech (and maybe even teaching others once you master it), you’ll fit right in. We move quickly, and you’ll be juggling multiple projects, so good time management and the ability to deliver fast are key.

Attention to Detail: Small mistakes in an automation can lead to big errors (e.g., email goes to wrong list, or an AI response pulls incorrect data). We need you to be detail-oriented and test your work. Before deploying a new agent or workflow, you’ll double-check that it’s working as intended. You’re the kind of person who notices the little things – and fixes them before they become big things.

What We Offer

Stable, Long-Term Employment: This is a full-time role with the intention of a multi-year partnership. Our tea ---------- mbers average ~3 years with us, and we pride ourselves on being a great place to work with a supportive culture. You won’t be a short-term contractor; you’ll be a core part of the team, and we’ll invest in your growth. (Contractor status is just for international logistics.)

Competitive Pay + Bonuses: We offer $1,000-$1,500/month depending on your experience and skills. On top of that, we have performance bonuses: for example, once we get our first 1,000 sales of the AI tech tools you help build, we’re happy to reward you with a bonus. We also do annual (and quarterly) reviews, tied to potential raises and incentives. In short, great work will directly translate into higher earnings for you over time. Our goal is to make this a win-win: as the company grows, you share in the rewards.

Flexibility: While we prefer some overlap with U.S. hours, we are overall flexible with your work schedule as long as the job gets done. If you’re in Asia or Africa, we won’t necessarily force a full 9-5 U.S. shift (though a few hours overlap most days is ideal). We trust adults to manage their time. Need to shift your hours one day for personal reasons? That’s fine – we value results over micromanagement. We just ask for openness and reliability. Note: Occasionally, we might have a live event or urgent issue off-hours, and we’d appreciate your help; but we’ll keep those reasonable and respect your time.

Growth Opportunities: You will be our first dedicated AI engineer, which means you have the chance to lead as we grow. In the future, we may hire junior techs or additional developers, and you could mentor or manage them if you’re interested. You’ll also get exposure to the business side: seeing how AI products are conceptualized, built, and sold. If you’re entrepreneurial, this is a great environment to sharpen that sense (without the risk of starting your own business). Furthermore, we’ll cover expenses for any tools or software you need to do your job effectively. Need to enroll in an online course or buy a software license related to AI? We’re open to supporting that because it benefits both you and us when your skills advance.

Creative, Impactful Work: This isn’t a monotonous factory job – you’ll be creating new solutions that have direct impact. The tools you build will help real people (our clients) save time and make money. Internally, your automations will free our team from drudgery so we can focus on big-picture things. We’ll regularly share with you the results of your work (e.g., “This month the AI proposal generator you built saved us 40 hours of work and helped close 5 deals!”). If you get excited knowing your tech is making a difference, you’ll find this role rewarding. We also encourage innovation – have a crazy idea that might help the company? You’ll always be heard.

Collaborative Team Environment: Although you’ll be the point person for AI, you won’t work in a silo. Our team is collaborative and you’ll frequently interface with others – whether it’s our CEO Ashley (who is very tech-forward and will bounce ideas with you), our operations folks, or our client-facing staff. We’re all learning and adapting to AI together. It’s a fun, start-up-like atmosphere (even though our core business is established in the coaching/education space). We celebrate wins, we help each other, and we genuinely want everyone to succeed. Also, as a remote global team, we enjoy little cultural exchanges and have an inclusive vibe.
