JOB OVERVIEW

We're a UK property group (8 limited companies: HMOs, serviced accommodation and two property-tech apps) looking for a part-time bookkeeper who knows Sage 50 Accounts (UK desktop) well and is genuinely comfortable working with AI.

HOW THE JOB WORKS
This is an oversight and quality-control role, not data entry. Our AI system already does the bulk of the work: every morning it codes each bank transaction for every company (BR/BP, nominal code, department, VAT code), prepares the Sage import files and flags anything it's unsure of. Your job is to make sure everything the AI produces is correct before it goes into Sage: check its work, fix mistakes, resolve the flagged items, import the approved entries into Sage 50, and confirm every bank account reconciles to the penny.

YOU WILL
- Review the daily AI posting report and approve, correct or query each entry
- Import approved entries into Sage 50 (audit trail CSV import)
- Check that all 8 Tide bank accounts and the company credit card reconcile each month
- Make sure inter-company loans, director's loan entries and mortgage capital/interest splits are posted correctly
- Keep nominal codes and property departments tidy across all 8 Sage companies
- Spot patterns in the AI's mistakes and turn them into clear rules so they don't happen again
- Take Sage backups and prepare files for our UK accountant at year end

YOU MUST HAVE
- 2+ years hands-on with Sage 50 Accounts UK: bank receipts/payments, journals, departments, imports, bank reconciliation
- UK bookkeeping knowledge: double entry, VAT, inter-company and director's loan accounts
- Daily use of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude or similar) in your work, and a sharp eye for when AI gets things wrong
- Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
- Excellent English and attention to detail

NICE TO HAVE
UK property clients (HMOs, ---------- payouts), multi-company bookkeeping, Tide, Stripe.

HOURS AND PAY
Part time and flexible, around 10 hours per week to start (roughly 30 minutes a day reviewing, plus month-end checks). Hourly rate to be discussed with candidates according to skill set and experience.
