We're a YouTube strategy team working on the channel of a well-known anti-fraud and identity verification company. The channel covers scams, fraud, identity theft and deepfakes, and our aim is simple: get to the stories that matter before anyone else, and show what really happened, with evidence.
We're hiring a full-time researcher to work directly with our strategist. You'll use AI tools every day, alongside our own AI research system, to find breaking stories early, check them properly and pull together everything the production team needs to make a great video.
What you'll do:
Scan news, court records, police and prosecutor press releases, Reddit and forums every day for new scam and fraud cases
Check each lead against our research system: is it real, is it new, is anyone on YouTube already covering it, and would people watch it?
Use YouTube data tools such as vidIQ, NexLev and Algrow to see what is performing and why
Watch competitor videos and write clear breakdown notes on the hook, the structure, the title and the thumbnail
Build research packs from primary sources: documents, quotes, numbers and footage
Email
Fact-check everything, including anything an AI tool gives you
What we're looking for:
At least two years of research experience, for example in journalism, OSINT, academic or market research
You use AI tools daily (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity or similar) and you know how to check their work
Excellent written English and confident spoken English
You can read a court document or press release and pull out what matters
Organised, proactive and comfortable working on your own
A reliable computer, fast internet and backup power
Nice to have:
Experience with vidIQ, NexLev, Algrow, 1of10 or TubeBuddy, or with connecting tools to AI assistants (MCP)
An interest in true crime, scams or cybersecurity
Experience with public records or freedom of information requests
Schedule and pay
Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week
At least four hours a day overlapping with UK mornings (5pm to 9pm Philippine time); the rest of your hours are flexible
$800 to $1,000 a month, depending on experience
We provide the AI and YouTube tool accounts you'll need
Shortlisted applicants complete a short, paid trial task
How to apply:
Use the subject line "Breaking Story Researcher". Applications without it won't be read. Please include:
A link to a short video or Loom (two minutes at most) introducing yourself and telling us about one scam or fraud story from the news that you think would make a great YouTube video, and why
The AI tools you use most, and one example of how you've used them in research
A link to a piece of research or writing you're proud of
