$25-35 per finished recipe (project-base
TBD
Oct 23, 2026
About the project:
I'm a US-based pastry creator (2M+ followers) publishing a sourdough pastry ebook launching December 1, 2026. The book has ~85 recipes — croissants, bagels, cruffins, brioche, and trompe l'oeil pastries. Every recipe is written and tested. I need one talented person who can BAKE each pastry from my recipe cards AND photograph it beautifully.
The role:
- Bake each recipe exactly as written (recipe cards provided, all sourdough-based)
- Photograph the finished pastry in a bright, high-contrast, natural-light style (style guide + sample photos provided)
- Per recipe: 1 hero shot + 2-3 process shots, full resolution, delivered via Google Drive
- Production runs late October through late November; all photos due by late November
- Project-based / part-time, remote (work from your own kitchen)
Must-haves:
- Real pastry skill — specifically laminated dough. You must be able to show croissants or puff pastry YOU baked
- A food photography portfolio of YOUR OWN work (not studio/team credits)
- Your own kitchen and camera, and a space with good natural light
- Comfortable maintaining a sourdough starter
- Good English — all recipes and feedback are in English
- Reliable internet for uploading full-resolution files
How hiring works:
1. Apply with the items below
2. Shortlisted applicants do a PAID test: bake one croissant recipe from my recipe card and shoot it to the style guide
3. If the test passes, we contract the full project in batches by category
Pay:
Project-based, paid per finished recipe (hero + process shots). Ingredients reimbursed.
How to apply:
Start your message with the word CROISSANT so I know you read the whole post, and include:
1. A link to your food photography portfolio
2. Photos of laminated pastry (croissant/puff) that you personally baked
3. A short note on your kitchen + camera setup and your natural-light space
4. Your per-recipe rate and your weekly availability from now through late November
Applications without baking photos of your own laminated pastry will not be considered — the baking is the job, the camera is the bonus.
