Project Commencement: Targeting Friday onwards, subject to confirmation of project readiness and receipt of required files
Future Opportunities: Potential follow-on projects involving animated presentations and InstaDoodle
1. Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced PowerPoint Animation & Video Production Specialist to transform an existing workshop presentation into a polished, professionally animated, narrated video.
The project involves enhancing an existing presentation of approximately 40 slides, incorporating around 120 graphic and audio elements, and synchronising visual animations with a supplied script and narration.
All core content, scripts, on-screen text, base graphics, and design direction will be provided. The primary responsibility is to execute the technical production, animate individual visual elements, coordinate audio and animation timing, and deliver a high-quality video alongside a fully editable PowerPoint presentation.
The ideal candidate will combine advanced PowerPoint animation skills with strong visual judgement, audio synchronisation capabilities, and meticulous attention to detail. They should be comfortable working independently with supplied assets and translating a written script into a clear, engaging sequence of visual events.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Advanced PowerPoint Animation
Enhance and prepare the supplied PowerPoint presentation for professional video production.
Separate and prepare graphic elements, illustrations, diagrams, and other visual assets where necessary to enable individual animation.
Create sophisticated animation sequences using PowerPoint's Animation Pane, motion paths, layered graphics, entrance and exit effects, and emphasis animations.
Progressively reveal diagrams, illustrations, text, and other visual components in alignment with the narration.
Control animation order, duration, delays, transitions, and sequencing to ensure a logical and engaging presentation flow.
Synchronise individual graphic movements and appearances with specific sections of the script and narration.
Maintain a consistent visual style across the entire presentation, ensuring that animations enhance understanding rather than distract from the content.
Preserve the editability and structure of the final PowerPoint file for future revisions.
B. Narration and Audio Synchronisation
Work with the supplied script, expected to contain approximately 2,000–3,000 words, and coordinate it with the presentation's visual sequence.
Integrate supplied narration or generate AI-based voiceovers if required and agreed as part of the production workflow.
Use AI voice-generation platforms such as ElevenLabs or comparable tools where necessary.
Divide narration into suitable segments to align with individual slides, visual elements, and animation sequences.
Fine-tune audio timing, pauses, animation triggers, and slide transitions to maintain accurate synchronisation.
Review audio clarity, consistency, playback, and transitions throughout the presentation.
C. Video Production and Export
Convert the completed animated presentation into a high-quality MP4 video.
Configure slide timings and playback settings to ensure the video runs smoothly without requiring manual interaction.
Review the exported video for animation errors, audio mismatches, unexpected pauses, clipped elements, inconsistent transitions, and other playback issues.
Make necessary adjustments to ensure the final video meets professional presentation and production standards.
Ensure the final output maintains a consistent pace and provides a clear, engaging viewing experience.
D. Graphic Preparation and Asset Management
Prepare, edit, and organise supplied graphics for use within the presentation.
Separate complex graphics into individual components when required for progressive animation.
Maintain organised source files and separately prepared graphic assets to support future editing and revisions.
Ensure that visual assets remain properly positioned, proportioned, and consistent across slides.
Deliver all agreed source files and assets in an organised, accessible format.
E. Quality Assurance and Project Delivery
Follow the supplied script, design direction, and production instructions accurately.
Conduct a complete review of the presentation and exported video before delivery.
Check animation timing, narration alignment, slide sequencing, visual consistency, and playback quality.
Resolve technical issues and make agreed refinements within the project scope.
Communicate progress, raise potential production challenges early, and manage the project independently to meet the agreed deadline.
Deliver the final files in the agreed formats and ensure they are ready for future editing or reuse.
3. Essential Skills and Experience
Candidates must demonstrate practical experience in the following areas:
Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint
Strong working knowledge of the Animation Pane, custom animations, motion paths, transitions, layered graphics, and detailed timing controls.
Ability to animate individual elements within complex slides rather than relying solely on basic slide transitions.
Ability to build animation sequences that progressively introduce information in a logical order.
Presentation-to-Video Production
Proven experience creating narrated PowerPoint presentations and exporting them successfully as high-quality MP4 videos.
Understanding of slide timings, playback settings, audio integration, and video quality control.
Ability to troubleshoot animation and playback issues during video export.
Audio and Animation Synchronisation
Experience aligning narration with individual slides, diagrams, text, and animated visual elements.
Strong understanding of timing, sequencing, pauses, transitions, and pacing.
Graphic Manipulation
Ability to prepare and separate supplied graphics into individual elements for animation.
Confidence working with layered visuals, diagrams, illustrations, and other presentation assets.
Attention to Detail and Execution
Strong visual judgement and a methodical approach to quality assurance.
Ability to follow a supplied script and design direction precisely.
Comfortable handling detailed, repetitive production work without compromising quality.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver within an agreed project scope.
Portfolio Evidence
Candidates must be able to share relevant examples of animated PowerPoint presentations, narrated training materials, explainer videos, or comparable production work.
Candidates should clearly explain their individual contribution to the showcased projects.
4. Preferred Skills and Tools
The following are advantageous but are not mandatory:
Experience with InstaDoodle, Doodly, or similar whiteboard-animation platforms.
Familiarity with AI voice-generation tools such as ElevenLabs or comparable platforms.
Experience with Camtasia, Adobe Premiere Pro, or other video editing and production software.
Background in e-learning, instructional content, online courses, workshop recordings, training videos, or educational presentations.
Experience producing explainer videos or animated presentations involving complex diagrams and progressive visual explanations.
Familiarity with audio editing, narration segmentation, and basic sound quality optimisation.
Important: Advanced PowerPoint animation and successful presentation-to-video production are the primary selection criteria. Candidates should not be rejected solely because they have not used InstaDoodle or Doodly, provided they demonstrate strong transferable animation skills and a willingness to learn.
5. Project Scope and Deliverables
The successful candidate will be responsible for completing the following deliverables:
Editable PowerPoint presentation: A fully editable PPTX file containing the completed animation sequences, transitions, timing, and integrated narration as agreed.
Final MP4 video: A high-quality video export with correctly synchronised narration, animations, and slide transitions.
Prepared graphic assets: All separately prepared graphic components and other agreed assets required to maintain or revise the presentation.
Quality-checked final output: A reviewed presentation and video with no known unresolved issues relating to animation sequencing, audio synchronisation, or playback.
Organised source files: Source materials structured clearly enough to support future editing and updates.
The project is expected to cover approximately 40 slides and 120 graphic/audio elements. The final scope and specific deliverable requirements will be confirmed before production begins.
6. Project Budget and Engagement Conditions
This is a project-based engagement rather than an hourly employment arrangement.
Candidates should review the deliverables and estimated workload carefully before accepting the project.
Any additional work outside the agreed scope must be discussed and approved separately before commencement.
The candidate must be able to commit the time required to complete the project within the agreed timeline and quality expectations.
7. Potential Follow-On Work: InstaDoodle
Following successful completion of the initial project, there may be opportunities for additional work involving InstaDoodle or similar animation platforms.
Future projects may involve animating individual visual elements in accordance with supplied scripts and narration. Prior InstaDoodle experience is beneficial but not essential, as the platform is expected to be relatively straightforward to learn, with initial familiarisation estimated at approximately 30 minutes.
Any follow-on work will be scoped, scheduled, and agreed separately from the initial PowerPoint project. Recurring or part-time work may be considered depending on future project requirements and performance.
8. Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a technically capable animation specialist who enjoys turning static information into clear, engaging visual presentations.
They will:
Have a portfolio demonstrating advanced PowerPoint animation or comparable presentation-based video production.
Be confident creating animations at the individual graphic-element level.
Understand how to translate narration into well-timed visual sequences.
Have successfully exported narrated presentations into polished video formats.
Be detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable working with client-provided materials.
Be able to deliver both editable source files and a professional final video.
Be comfortable working within a fixed project budget and agreed scope.
Be open to learning additional animation tools for potential future projects.
9. Screening and Application Requirements
Interested candidates should provide:
An updated CV highlighting relevant PowerPoint animation and video production experience.
A portfolio or links to at least two relevant examples, where available.
A brief explanation of their role in each example and which tools they used.
Confirmation of their experience exporting animated PowerPoint presentations to MP4.
Details of any experience with AI voice-generation tools and audio synchronisation.
Confirmation of their availability to undertake the initial project and complete up to 50 hours of work.
Shortlisted candidates may be asked to discuss their production workflow, explain how they would approach the animation and narration requirements, and demonstrate relevant work during an interview.
10. Selection Priorities
Candidates will be assessed primarily on:
Demonstrated advanced PowerPoint animation skills.
Proven experience producing narrated presentations and exporting them to MP4.
Ability to synchronise audio with individual visual elements and animation sequences.
Portfolio quality, attention to detail, and understanding of visual pacing.
Ability to deliver editable source files and organised assets.
Availability, commitment to the fixed project scope, and potential suitability for future work.
Experience with a particular whiteboard-animation platform is secondary to proven production ability.
The objective is to identify a reliable, technically strong specialist who can take supplied content and turn it into a polished, fully editable animated presentation and professional narrated video.
