JOB OVERVIEW

Technical Business Analyst & Product QA Lead – SaaS / CRM

Remote | Philippines | Full-time preferred

We are looking for an experienced Technical Business Analyst and Product QA Lead to help complete and improve an existing business management software platform.

The platform supports workflows such as customer management, quoting, job management, scheduling, invoicing, inventory and accounting integrations.

You will work directly with the product owner and lead developer to understand how the system should work, identify gaps, document clear business rules and thoroughly test completed changes.

We need someone who can take a discussion, recording or rough explanation and turn it into clear requirements that developers can implement and testers can verify. You should be comfortable asking questions, identifying missing scenarios and following issues through to resolution.

Your responsibilities will include:

Review the existing application and understand its workflows, users and business processes.

Work with the product owner to define intended behaviour and resolve unclear or conflicting requirements.

Map workflows and document business rules, user stories and acceptance criteria.

Identify missing steps, confusing interfaces, inconsistent behaviour and opportunities to simplify workflows.

Create clear GitHub issues containing the problem, reproduction steps, expected and actual results, supporting screenshots or recordings, and acceptance criteria.

Distinguish bugs from new feature requests and decisions that need product-owner approval.

Perform hands-on testing across complete workflows, including normal use, unusual scenarios, errors and permissions.

Verify fixes and perform regression testing to check that existing functionality still works.

Help maintain an organised backlog, prioritise launch blockers and communicate progress clearly.

Keep workflow documentation and test cases aligned with approved changes.

Coordinate with developers and testers so that work is only marked complete once the agreed requirements have been verified.

Accounting and integration experience would be particularly valuable. Where applicable, you will help check that information moving between our platform and Xero is accurate and consistent, including customers, invoices, taxes, payments and transaction statuses.

We are looking for someone with:

Proven experience in software business analysis, product analysis, hands-on QA or a closely related role.

Experience working with an existing SaaS, CRM, ERP or business management platform.

Strong ability to turn business requirements into practical workflows and testable acceptance criteria.

Experience investigating issues and writing clear, actionable reports for developers.

Strong understanding of end-to-end testing, edge cases and regression testing.

Familiarity with GitHub Issues, Jira or a similar issue-management system.

Clear written and spoken English.

Strong attention to detail, logical thinking and the ability to work independently.

Confidence raising concerns when requirements are unclear or completed work does not meet the agreed behaviour.

Useful additional experience includes:

Xero usage, implementation or integration testing.

Trade services, field service, construction, job management or inventory software.

Invoicing, purchasing, bookkeeping and tax-related workflows.

API testing with Postman, reading JSON, browser developer tools or basic SQL.

Playwright or other automated testing tools.

Figma, wireframes or workflow diagrams.

A development background that helps you investigate issues and collaborate with engineers.

Programming is not the main responsibility of this role. Initial work will use the test application, documentation and issue tracker; access to the application’s source code is not required.

This is a hands-on role. We need someone who will actively use the system, understand the business logic, find problems, propose practical improvements and verify the results.

Pay is negotiable based on experience. Please include your expected hourly rate and currency.

Please also provide your weekly availability, preferred working hours, timezone and earliest start date. Agreed daily overlap with the product owner and development team will be required.

Time-tracking software will be used during the initial engagement.

To apply, please submit:

Your CV and a short summary of your relevant business analysis and QA experience.

Details of any CRM, SaaS, trade services or business management platforms you have worked on, explaining your responsibilities.

Your experience with Xero or other accounting integrations.

An anonymised example of a workflow, business requirement or user story with acceptance criteria.

An example of a clear bug report you have written, including how you verified the fix.

Your expected hourly rate and currency, availability and earliest start date.

Please also briefly describe a time you identified a workflow or business-rule problem that others had missed, and how you helped resolve it.

Please use “Technical BA & Product QA Lead” as your application subject.
