The Role
We run short-term rentals in the US market and are looking for a Guest Communication Associate to handle guest messaging and deliver excellent, friendly customer service. This is a remote, part-time position (30 hours/week).
What You’ll Do
Respond promptly to guest inquiries and messages in Hostaway across Airbnb, VRBO and direct booking
Manage booking requests and resolve guest concerns
Screen guests where required before and after booking
Keep reservations, calendars and check-in details accurate
Make sure every guest has a smooth, positive experience from inquiry to checkout
Coordinate with cleaners and our team when needed
Help us maintain high ratings and positive reviews
Use Claude alongside our rental software to draft replies and speed up routine work, always reviewing before anything is sent
Schedule & Pay
US Eastern daytime hours, Wednesday through Sunday (five 6-hour shifts, weekends included). Monday and Tuesday off. $5/hour USD. The first two weeks are a paid trial at the same rate.
Skill Requirements
Problem solving under pressure. Guest concerns need to be triaged with speed and care, and you’ll need to think on your feet.
Short-term rental software experience. You’ve used a property management system or channel manager (Hostaway, Guesty, Hospitable, OwnerRez, Lodgify or similar) and know Airbnb and VRBO host tools. Hostaway preferred.
Tech-savvy. You’ll work across several apps and platforms, and you already use an AI assistant (Claude preferred) in your daily work.
Excellent written English. Clear, natural, warm.
Organization. You keep multiple properties, conversations and details straight without being chased.
Good judgment and discretion. You use only the AI tools we provide, keep guest information out of personal accounts, and escalate anything unusual instead of guessing.
Positive attitude and willingness to be trained on how we do things.
In your first message, please answer:
Which short-term rental software have you used, for how long, for how many properties, and what did you personally do in it day to day?
A guest says the unit isn’t clean 45 minutes before check-in. What do you do, in order?
Have you used Claude or another AI assistant for guest or customer messages? Give one example, and one thing you’d never let it send without checking.
