ABOUT OUR COMPANY
We are a U.S.-based transportation and logistics company headquartered in Southern California, specializing in trucking and freight transportation.
We currently operate a small fleet with plans for continued growth. We are seeking an experienced dispatcher to take ownership of our daily freight sourcing and dispatch operations.
This position will initially support two trucks and work directly with company ownership. As our operations expand, there will be opportunities to assume greater responsibility in dispatch management, operational planning, and potentially customer development.
We value reliability, responsiveness, adaptability, and strong problem-solving skills. Our goal is to build a disciplined, efficient, and scalable transportation operation.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
POSITION OVERVIEW
Your primary responsibility will be to find, evaluate, negotiate, and book profitable freight for our trucks using U.S. freight load boards.
We operate primarily in the spot freight market. Because opportunities appear throughout the day, this position requires active load-board monitoring, quick responses, and sound operational judgment.
You must be comfortable working independently within established guidelines while communicating clearly when a decision requires approval.
IMPORTANT: This is NOT an entry-level dispatch assistant position. We are specifically seeking someone with hands-on experience sourcing, negotiating, and booking U.S. trucking freight.

1. FREIGHT SOURCING & NEGOTIATION
• Monitor freight load boards, including DAT and similar platforms.

• Contact brokers, negotiate competitive rates, and book approved freight.
• Proactively secure reloads and plan upcoming truck availability.
• Evaluate load profitability and operational feasibility.
• Identify valuable freight lanes, brokers, and recurring opportunities.
2. DISPATCH OPERATIONS
• Coordinate pickup and delivery information with drivers and brokers.
• Monitor load progress and communicate scheduling changes.
• Consider hours-of-service availability, transit times, and appointment requirements.
• Maintain accurate load details and dispatch records.

3. TRANSPORTATION ADMINISTRATION
• Organize rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs, and related documentation.
• Update transportation management systems, spreadsheets, and internal records.
• Assist with broker communications and documentation follow-up.
• Support operational reporting and administrative processes.
4. PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
• Help develop efficient and repeatable dispatch procedures.
• Prepare basic operational and performance reports.
