Job Title: Part-Time CAD Model & Drawing Checker / Inspection Documentation Specialist (Fusion 360)
Type: Part-time, as needed
Wage: TBD
Hours: Flexible, with some overlap with U.S. business hours required for communication
About Us
We are a U.S.-based engineering and product development company. We work with U.S. clients on precision machined components, including parts for the aerospace industry. We need a detail-oriented model and drawing checker to join our team right away.
What You’ll Do
Review 3D models in Fusion 360 for correct geometry, features, and design intent, and confirm the model is built cleanly and accurately
Verify that the 2D drawing matches the 3D model
Check every dimension, tolerance, note, and callout on the drawing for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability
Clearly document errors in both the model and the drawing, and send redlined feedback to the engineer so they can make corrections and learn from them
Verify the corrections once the engineer revises the model and drawing
Prepare final inspection reports for released parts
Prepare shop inspection reports (ballooned drawings and dimension checklists) the machine shop uses to verify parts
Requirements
Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Fusion 360 (modeling, drawings, and inspection tools)
Experience reviewing and checking 3D CAD models and mechanical engineering drawings
Understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and dimensioning and tolerancing practices
Extreme attention to detail; you catch mistakes others miss
Fluent spoken and written English; you will communicate directly with U.S. engineers and clients
Ability to give clear, constructive written feedback
Reliable internet connection and your own computer capable of running Fusion 360
Available to start immediately
Nice to Have
Experience with aerospace, defense, or other precision manufacturing
Familiarity with first article inspection (AS9102) or AS9100 quality systems
Background in machining, CNC, or quality control inspection
Experience creating inspection reports or ballooned drawings
Hiring Process
Apply with your resume and a short note about your experience checking models and drawings in Fusion 360.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a video interview. This interview will assess your English communication.
After the interview, you will receive a short practical test in Fusion 360. It must be completed and returned within 24 hours of your interview. Please apply only if you can commit to this turnaround.
Top candidates will be hired on a part-time, as-needed basis. There is an opportunity for more work depending on performance.
To Apply
Send your resume and include the following:
How many years you have used Fusion 360
A brief example of a model or drawing error you caught and how you documented it
Your availability for an interview this week
Start your message with the phrase “Dimension Check” so we know you read the full post. Applications without it will not be reviewed.
