Tuff Jug is a rapidly growing U.S.-based ecommerce brand specializing in innovative utility containers and accessories. We've experienced explosive growth over the past several years and operate a high-volume Shopify Plus store with substantial website traffic. We're looking for a highly experienced Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) Specialist to take ownership of improving our website's performance.

This is a dedicated CRO position, not a general ecommerce or virtual assistant role.

THE ROLE

Your primary responsibility will be improving our website's conversion rate, average order value, and revenue per visitor. We want someone who thinks about conversion optimization all day, every day. You'll be responsible for analyzing our website, identifying opportunities, developing testing strategies, executing experiments, and continuously improving the customer experience.

We need someone who can independently lead our CRO efforts. Our leadership team understands ecommerce, but we are not CRO experts and cannot provide technical CRO training. You must already have the experience and confidence to take ownership of this function.

We want someone who brings ideas to the table, challenges assumptions, and proactively identifies improvements without being told what to do.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Website Analysis & Conversion Audits

Conduct thorough, ongoing audits of our Shopify Plus website.

Analyze the entire customer journey, from landing pages to checkout.

Identify friction points, usability issues, and missed conversion opportunities.

Analyze customer behavior using GA4, heatmaps, session recordings, and other tools.

Evaluate mobile and desktop conversion performance.

Identify opportunities based on quantitative and qualitative data.

Product Detail Page (PDP) Optimization

Continuously evaluate and improve our product detail pages.

Recommend and test changes to product images, descriptions, headlines, CTAs, layouts, and trust elements.

Improve product education and address customer objections.

Optimize product bundles, upsells, cross-sells, and accessory recommendations.

Identify opportunities to improve add-to-cart rates and purchase completion.

A/B Testing & Experimentation

Develop and own a structured CRO testing roadmap.

Create data-backed hypotheses for experiments.

Prioritize tests based on potential impact, confidence, and effort.

Set up, launch, monitor, and analyze A/B tests.

Understand statistical significance, sample sizes, test duration, and experiment validity.

Document results and coordinate implementation of winning variations.

Build a consistent testing program focused on measurable business results.

Analytics & Reporting

Analyze Shopify, GA4, and other ecommerce performance data.

Monitor conversion rate, revenue per visitor, average order value, add-to-cart rate, and checkout completion.

Segment results by device, traffic source, landing page, and customer type.

Provide weekly updates covering findings, tests, results, and upcoming priorities.

Clearly explain recommendations and findings to U.S.-based leadership.

Continuous Improvement

Research ecommerce conversion strategies and industry best practices.

Proactively identify new testing opportunities.

Recommend improvements to navigation, landing pages, PDPs, cart, and checkout.

Coordinate with creative and development resources to execute changes.

Take full ownership of building and maintaining our CRO program.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Significant hands-on experience in ecommerce conversion rate optimization, preferably 5+ years. Candidates with fewer years but exceptional, documented results will also be considered.

Proven experience improving conversion performance for established ecommerce businesses.

Strong Shopify or Shopify Plus experience.

Extensive experience designing, launching, and analyzing A/B tests.

Advanced understanding of GA4, Shopify analytics, and customer behavior analysis.

Experience with tools such as VWO, Convert, Optimizely, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, or similar platforms.

Strong understanding of ecommerce UX, consumer psychology, and conversion-focused copywriting.

Demonstrated experience optimizing product detail pages for physical consumer products.

Ability to independently develop, prioritize, and execute a CRO roadmap.

Outstanding spoken and written English, including the ability to clearly communicate complex ideas with U.S.-based leadership.

Highly analytical, proactive, organized, and results-driven.

Experience with GemPages, Shopify theme editing, and basic HTML/CSS is a plus, but not required.

WHO THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR

We are not looking for:

General Shopify virtual assistants.

Web designers without substantial CRO experience.

Paid advertising specialists looking to transition into CRO.

Candidates who have only completed CRO courses.

Consultants who only produce audits without helping execute improvements.

Individuals who require extensive training or daily direction.

We need a proven CRO professional who can independently lead this function.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Within your first 90 days, you should be able to:

Complete a comprehensive audit of our website and customer journey.

Develop a prioritized CRO roadmap.

Launch meaningful A/B tests based on identified opportunities.

Begin implementing improvements to our highest-impact product pages.

Establish a consistent experimentation and reporting process.

Long term, your success will be measured by the quality of your experimentation program and measurable improvements in website performance and revenue per visitor.

COMPENSATION

Salary: $1,000–$3,000 USD per month, depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated results.

This is a full-time, long-term position with:

Competitive compensation based on experience.

Opportunity for compensation growth based on performance.

Direct collaboration with company leadership.

Significant ownership and autonomy.

The opportunity to make a measurable impact on a rapidly growing ecommerce brand.

A stable, long-term role with growth opportunities.

HOW TO APPLY

Generic applications will not be considered.

Please include the following:

Your experience: How many years have you worked specifically in ecommerce CRO? Which Shopify or ecommerce brands have you worked with?

Your results: Describe two actual A/B tests you personally managed. Include the problem, hypothesis, test implementation, results, and how you validated those results. Share specific performance metrics whenever possible.

Your tools: Which CRO, analytics, heatmap, and A/B testing platforms have you personally used?

Your strategy: If you joined an established Shopify store generating substantial monthly revenue, what would your first 30 days look like?

Your communication: Include a 2–3 minute Loom video introducing yourself and walking us through one successful CRO experiment you've personally managed. We will use this to evaluate both your expertise and your English communication skills. If you do not submit a video, we will not consider your application.

Your compensation: Provide your expected monthly salary in USD and your earliest available start date.

Important: Begin your application with the words "Conversion First" so we know you've read the full posting.

We're looking for an exceptional CRO professional who wants to take ownership, drive meaningful results, and build a long-term career with a growing U.S. ecommerce company.

If that's you, we'd love to hear from you.
