About The Coaches Business Studio
The Coaches Business Studio is a new online learning platform helping professional coaches build, grow and develop their coaching businesses.
While traditional coach training focuses on teaching people how to coach, we focus on helping them build the business around their coaching skills.
We're creating a growing collection of online courses, masterclasses, practical resources and other learning experiences, covering topics such as marketing, branding, finance, business development, corporate coaching and much more.
One of our distinctive features is our AI-presented faculty: a cast of virtual educators, each with their own personality, expertise and teaching style. Behind them, however, is a human team researching, writing, designing and producing the educational content.
We're building an ambitious and slightly unconventional learning platform, with a strong emphasis on quality, creativity and practical value.
Our website is already substantially developed, our video production is underway, and we're now looking for a talented graphic designer to join our small creative team.
About the Role
We're looking for a graphic designer who can become our go-to person for visual design across the Studio.
This is a hands-on creative role involving everything from social media graphics and video thumbnails to website imagery, programme artwork and educational resources.
But we're also looking for something more than straightforward graphic production.
Although we already have a logo, website, typography and colour palette, we're still developing our wider visual identity. We have some ideas about the direction we'd like to take, but we're deliberately keeping an open mind.
Rather than commissioning a large branding exercise, we'd prefer to develop our visual style organically, through experimentation, discussion and the process of creating real content.
You'll work directly with the founder, exploring ideas, presenting alternative approaches and gradually helping us establish a distinctive and consistent visual language.
We want someone who enjoys both the creative thinking and the practical design work.
What You'll Be Doing
Social Media & Marketing Graphics
Creating engaging, distinctive visual content for our social media channels, including Instagram,
This could include:
- Standalone graphics that communicate an idea or insight.
- Carousel posts and visual storytelling.
- Illustrations, diagrams and conceptual graphics.
- Promotional images for courses and other Studio content.
- Graphics to accompany articles, essays and educational posts.
- Campaign visuals and advertising creatives.
We're particularly interested in graphics that communicate ideas intelligently, rather than simply decorating a quote or adding text to a stock photograph.
Website & Digital Design
Developing visual assets for our existing website and helping refine its visual presentation.
This may include:
- Imagery and illustrations for website pages.
- Visual identities for our different learning formats.
- Icons and supporting graphic elements.
- Programme artwork and promotional banners.
- Suggestions for improving the visual consistency and personality of the site.
We're not looking for someone to rebuild the website. The focus is on creating the visual assets and design treatments that make it more distinctive and engaging.
Video Thumbnails & Programme Artwork
Designing thumbnails and covers for YouTube videos, online courses, masterclasses and other educational content.
We want these to feel part of a recognisable Studio identity while giving individual subjects and faculty members their own character.
You'll work alongside our video production team to ensure a consistent approach across video and graphic content.
Educational Resources
Helping create visually attractive, clear and useful learning materials.
These may include:
- Workbook covers and internal page designs.
- Diagrams, models and frameworks.
- Worksheets, templates and downloadable resources.
- Presentation graphics.
- Supporting illustrations for educational content.
The emphasis will be on good information design, clarity and usability as well as visual appeal.
Developing Our Visual Identity
A particularly interesting part of the role will be helping shape the Studio's visual direction.
We don't expect you to arrive with a complete brand strategy or disappear for several weeks to produce a formal branding presentation.
Instead, we'd like to work collaboratively.
We might explore a particular illustration style, create several treatments of a website section, experiment with different approaches to course covers, or develop a family of graphics for our social media content.
Through this process, we'll identify what works, refine our preferences and gradually build a consistent visual identity.
Over time, we'd like you to help document the decisions we've made, creating a straightforward visual guide and reusable templates for the team.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for a talented, imaginative graphic designer with strong visual judgement and a genuine interest in creative collaboration.
Ideally, you'll have:
- An excellent portfolio demonstrating strong graphic design skills.
- A good eye for typography, composition, colour and visual hierarchy.
- Experience creating content for social media and digital platforms.
- The ability to communicate ideas through illustrations, graphics and visual concepts.
- Experience creating coherent designs across different formats.
- Confidence using professional design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud and/or Figma.
- The ability to develop ideas independently and present different creative options.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce polished, finished work.
- An organised and reliable approach to managing ongoing assignments.
Experience with editorial design, educational content, brand design or information design would be particularly valuable.
We're also happy for you to use AI-assisted creative tools where they genuinely improve the work, provided you bring your own design judgement and attention to quality.
The Kind of Working Relationship We Want
We're a small team, and we work collaboratively.
You'll work directly with the founder, who is closely involved in the creative direction of the Studio, as well as alongside our video editors and content production team.
We're looking for someone who is comfortable with an iterative process: discussing an idea, producing a few approaches, getting feedback, refining the design and moving forward.
Sometimes we'll have a very clear brief. At other times, we'll have a half-formed idea and want your help developing it.
You should feel comfortable making suggestions, questioning an approach and proposing something better.
We value good creative judgement, curiosity, initiative and the willingness to experiment.
We also want someone who enjoys producing finished work. This isn't primarily a consultancy or brand strategy position. It's a creative production role with the opportunity to help influence the brand's direction.
What Success Looks Like
Over the first few months, we'd hope to see:
- A regular flow of high-quality visual content for our social media channels.
- An increasingly consistent and recognisable style across our visual materials.
- Stronger and more distinctive website imagery.
- A coherent approach to course covers and video thumbnails.
- A growing collection of reusable templates and design assets.
- A productive creative relationship in which ideas can be explored and developed quickly.
We expect our visual identity to become clearer through this process rather than trying to settle every decision before the work begins.
What We're Offering
This is an opportunity to become an important part of a growing creative and educational business.
You'll have the chance to contribute ideas, influence the development of the brand and see your work used across a wide range of channels and educational products.
We're interested in building a long-term relationship with the right person.
We're open to discussing the number of hours and working arrangements depending on your experience and availability.
How to Apply
Please send us:
1. Your portfolio, particularly examples of social media graphics, editorial design, digital graphics, illustrations or brand-related work.
2. A short introduction explaining what kinds of design work you particularly enjoy and why this role interests you.
We'd particularly like to see examples where you've taken a relatively simple idea and turned it into an original, engaging visual.
Please avoid lengthy, generic proposals and AI written smartly worded applications that I get 10 times per day. We'd much rather see a strong portfolio and a few thoughtful comments about how you like to work.
We're looking for someone who can help us create the Studio's visual identity by making things, experimenting and improving together.
