House of Nannies — a boutique nanny agency in New York
READ THIS FIRST
This is a finding-people role. Our families are waiting for candidates, and the agency's promise is that the first ones arrive within 72 hours of a family signing with us. You will be the person who makes that true for your territory: finding experienced caregivers where they actually are, getting them on the phone, interviewing them on video, speaking to their references yourself, and building a bench of people we would put our name on. If you like the hunt, you're good on the phone with strangers, and you can tell a real reference from a polite one, this is for you. If you'd rather process what comes in than go and find it, it isn't — and that's okay.
ABOUT US
We are a small, warm, high-end nanny agency serving families in Westchester, Manhattan, Greenwich and Fairfield County, Bergen County, and the Hamptons, with a sister babysitting membership called Little Minders. We run on our own custom platform (you'll be trained — quick learners thrive here). Our team is friendly, remote, and mostly based in the Philippines. Our reputation is built on placements that last, and that starts with who we find.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You own a territory. Your first will be Bergen County, Greenwich and Fairfield, and the Hamptons — the areas where we most need to grow — and you carry the number for it: how many caregivers there are fully vetted and ready to be presented to a family.
- Source every day, beyond the job post: Indeed,
- Screen on the phone: a short résumé call to cover what the page didn't say and the deal-breakers (legal to work, hours wanted, area and commute, drives, rate, notice).
- Interview on video, the same way for every candidate, using our interview sheet: their history family by family, scenarios, discretion, what they want next. You'll set their temperament and write the honest line.
- Reference calls: two per candidate, former employers only, the referee verified, made by phone from our system, written up the same day in the referee's own words. You will follow our written guide exactly.
- Complete each candidate's record so a family can read it: the profile, documents, the résumé rewritten plainly and confirmed by the candidate.
- The kind decline, within three days, to anyone not for us — with the reason on the record.
- Find babysitters for Little Minders in your areas; our backup-care coordinator vets and books them.
- A weekly note with your numbers by region: sourced, in process, fully vetted, placed.
HOURS
Monday–Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm US Eastern (evening/night in the Philippines). Candidates and referees answer their phones in US daytime, so this is not a role that can shift to Philippine hours. Breaks whenever you need them — just make sure nothing is sitting unanswered while you're away.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- A finder — you enjoy looking for people and you don't wait for them to come to you
- Comfortable on the phone with strangers, in clear, warm English — you'll make ten or more calls a day
- A good listener — you notice the pause before "reliable," and you write it down
- Follows a written process exactly, and says so when the process is wrong rather than quietly doing it differently
- Honest about what's done and what isn't; a "not yet" from you is worth more than a "done" that isn't
- A quick learner — comfortable picking up a custom platform fast
- At least 3 years in recruiting, talent sourcing, staffing, or a role built on phone screening and reference checks — where the quality of who you found had consequences
- Experience recruiting for US families, household staff, or healthcare/caregiving roles is a strong plus; so is a network of caregivers of your own
PAY
PHP 65,000–85,000 per month depending on experience, paid twice monthly via Wise. The rate reflects US Eastern hours. 13th-month pay for long-term team members. Full-time, long-term. Paid trial before hiring (see below).
Plus a placement bonus: when a caregiver you found is placed with a family and is still there at 90 days, you earn a bonus for that placement. The amounts are set out in writing when you join.
This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for someone who has owned a pipeline before and can show the numbers.
HOW TO APPLY — PLEASE FOLLOW EXACTLY
Your application must start with the word BENCH on its own line, then answer three things in a few sentences each:
1. Tell us about a role where you had to find candidates, not just receive them. Where did you look, how many did you reach a week, and how many turned into hires?
2. You call a referee. She confirms the dates and says the nanny was "fine." What do you ask next, and what would make you flag the reference rather than approve it?
3. Your expected monthly salary.
Applications that don't start with BENCH won't be read. We reply to every application that does, within two business days.
THE PAID TRIAL
Shortlisted candidates receive a short paid trial (about 3 hours, PHP 2,000): you'll source five real candidates for a role we describe and tell us where you found each one and why they fit; listen to a recorded reference call and write it up the way our guide asks; and screen one résumé against a role's must-haves. We pay on completion whether or not we continue. It shows us the two things a résumé can't: whether you can find people, and whether you can hear a reference.
