We're Hiring a Senior Thumbnail Designer Who Makes People Click.
Are you the designer behind thumbnails that pull millions of views? Do you obsess over click-through rates the way other people obsess over likes? Do you know — instinctively — why one face crop converts and another one dies?
We're a fast-growing YouTube media company scaling multiple channels, and we need a senior-level thumbnail designer who doesn't just make things look nice — you make things get clicked. You'll be a core part of our creative engine, driving the visual strategy that puts our content on the map.
This is a long-term role for someone who wants stable, well-paid creative work — not a one-off gig.
What You'll Do
• Design 5–10 high-converting YouTube thumbnails per week across multiple channels and niches
• Develop thumbnail concepts from scratch — you pitch ideas, not just execute briefs
• Analyze CTR data and A/B test results to refine your approach over time
• Study competitor channels, trending styles, and audience psychology to stay ahead of the curve
• Collaborate with video editors, strategists, and channel managers via Slack and project management tools
• Maintain brand consistency across channels while pushing creative boundaries
• Deliver multiple thumbnail options per video so the team can test and optimize
• Mentor junior designers and provide constructive feedback on their thumbnail work
What We're Looking For
• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing YouTube thumbnails (a strong portfolio is non-negotiable)
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (compositing, retouching, color grading, cutouts, typography)
• Deep understanding of thumbnail psychology: emotion, contrast, visual hierarchy, curiosity gaps, and storytelling in a single frame
• Demonstrated ability to improve CTR through design — you can point to before/after results
• Comfort working with AI image-generation tools (Midjourney, Ideogram, DALL-E) as part of your workflow
• Excellent written English communication
• Available to overlap at least 4 hours with US Pacific or Eastern time zones
• Reliable internet connection and a professional home-office setup
Nice to Have (Not Required)
• Experience managing or mentoring other thumbnail designers
• Background in YouTube strategy, SEO, or content marketing
• Motion graphics or video editing skills
• Familiarity with analytics tools (YouTube Studio, TubeBuddy, vidIQ)
We believe the best working relationships are built on real collaboration, not guesswork. The extended trial protects both sides — you get to see if we're a great fit for you, too.
Compensation
• Monthly Salary: $500/month starting based (paid on time, every time)
