About the Role
Good Luck Grams is looking for a dedicated Designer to take over the day to day creation of individual Grams as orders come in, using our approved templates to bring each order to life with accuracy and care.
We're looking for someone with strong Photoshop skills, a genuine eye for design, and the kind of attention to detail that catches a mistake before it goes out the door. The right person is comfortable working independently from a template, keeps a steady pace through a busy season, and takes pride in getting the small details exactly right.
About Good Luck Grams
Good Luck Grams creates custom keepsake posters for gymnastics meets across the country. Our “Grams” are displayed throughout the venue before competition begins, giving families a meaningful way to encourage their gymnast. After the meet, each family takes their Gram home as a lasting keepsake.
We work with gyms and meet directors nationwide, managing everything from design through production, shipping, and meet day display. Our busy season runs November through April, with order volume growing every year.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Production
- Populate each meet's approved template with individual order details: gymnast name, level, gym, and personal message.
- Drop in and mask out the background of each submitted photo, using Photoshop's AI selection tools for fast, accurate masking.
- Use Photoshop's Generative AI tools to fix photo issues, such as recreating a cropped-out elbow, instead of requesting a new photo (unless the resolution is too low).
- Make text corrections directly to existing JPG files without recreating the entire Gram.
- Adjust text sizing and layout so names and messages of different lengths still look clean and balanced.
Quality & Accuracy
- Proofread every file for spelling, correct gym, and correct details before marking it complete.
- Keep each order's data matched to the correct spreadsheet row so details and photos never get mixed up between Grams.
- Flag anything unclear using the designated notes field rather than letting it slide.
Workflow & Communication
- Check the order spreadsheet regularly and work through new orders as they arrive.
- Work within a shared Google Drive, organized by meet, using the designated business
- Communicate status and questions clearly so nothing gets lost.
Qualifications
Experience
- Previous experience with high volume, template based design work.
- Proficiency in Photoshop required, including familiarity with its newer Generative AI tools.
- Must have the latest version of Photoshop on your own computer. The software is not provided.
Skills
- A genuine eye for design: knowing when text or layout doesn't look right, and how to fix it.
- Comfortable working independently from a template and a spreadsheet of order data.
- Reliable internet and a personal computer capable of running Photoshop smoothly.
Personal Attributes
- Strong, consistent attention to detail. This is the single most important skill for this role.
- Methodical when working row by row through a spreadsheet, so the right photo and details always land on the right Gram.
- Takes initiative and doesn't need to be micromanaged.
- Able to overlap with North American working hours when needed for check-ins or urgent requests.
