I'm hiring one full-time editor. This is for one person, not an agency or a team.
The job
Edit short-form video, mostly 9:16 talking head for Instagram Reels, plus some Meta ads.
Footage comes from cameras and log profiles (S-Log3, D-Log M, C-Log). You colourgrade it.
Every client has a style file. Read it before you cut. It holds their captions, grade style, music and every note they've ever given, so you know exactly what is expected.
3-4 videos submitted to QA a day, Monday to Friday.
Fixes and revisions come first. They're due by the end of your next working day and don't count toward the 4.
You work with myself and our project manager on WhatsApp. The project manager handles every client message. You never reply to clients directly.
Footage and review run through Timeliner.io.
The standard
Every video is checked against ten points. All ten pass or it doesn't go out. You score it first, then the project manager, then a final AI check.
Audio clear, no clipping
No black frames or glitches
Correct 9:16
Captions spelled correctly
No dead air in the first 1.5 seconds
Filler and long pauses trimmed
Clean cuts, pacing holds to the end
Captions burned in, sentence case, three words a line, below the chin
Grade true to skin with a light saturation push
Colour, logo and music correct for that client
What you need
2+ years editing short-form for social, including vertical talking head you cut yourself OR proof that you are good at editing
DaVinci Resolve
A computer that handles 4K footage
At least 50 Mbps internet and a backup plan for brownouts
English good enough to read a style file and reply to written notes clearly
What you get
PHP $57000 a month retainer (minimum depending on experience), paid monthly via Wise
The same clients long term, so you learn their style instead of starting fresh every week
Steady volume. No chasing gigs.
Monday to Friday, day shift Philippine time. Brisbane is 2 hours ahead, so most of your day overlaps ours.
The first month is a trial and you're paid in full either way.
How to apply
Put CADENCE in your subject line. Applications without it don't get read.
Send:
A link to 3 to 5 vertical talking-head edits you cut yourself
How many videos like that you can finish to a high standard in a day
A screenshot of your internet speed test
Your answer to this: a client says the captions are too slow. You've already sent 3 videos with the same captions. What do you do?
Briefly explain how to do a Rec709 conversion on DaVinci
Shortlisted editors do a paid test: one real clip with a style file, scored on the same ten checks, then one round of notes. PH $500.
