JOB OVERVIEW

Remote, Philippines · Part-time, moving to full-time · Direct hire – no agencies

This is a CAD drafting role, not a design role. Clients send us their existing Electrical, Hydraulic and Mechanical drawings with markups and redlines. You make the changes in AutoCAD, accurately and quickly, following the drawing standard that's already there. It's steady, varied work updating existing drawings. You won't be designing projects from scratch.

Who this suits
We’re open to applicants from a range of backgrounds. This role may suit:

- Someone with drafting or technical experience who is returning to work after a break and wants a flexible way back into the workforce without stepping backwards.

- Someone with foundational AutoCAD skills and limited professional drafting experience who wants to develop their skills and build a career in drafting.

You don't need specific as built drawing experience. We'll teach you our drawing standards and CAD skills and give you insights into the construction industry. A team member will check your work and give you feedback in the early weeks.

Hours, pay and set-up

Hours: about 16 to 20 hours a week to start. Within those hours you choose when you work, as long as jobs go out on time. Jobs are small (usually 1 to 6 hours each) with about a two-day turnaround.

Pay: 3 month probation period, a fixed PHP 13,000 a month for part-time hours, paid monthly.

Full-time: we'll formally review your progress at 3 months. A successful candidate will transition to full time work (approx. 40 hours) for a fixed PHP 25,000 – 28,000 a month, within six months of starting.

Pay progression: pay is reviewed annually and good work is rewarded.

Start: by negotiation.

Arrangement: direct hire only, no agencies please.

Equipment: your own PC or laptop that runs AutoCAD, AutoCAD software, reliable internet and a power backup.

About Design Assist Partners

Design Assist Partners has been in business for over 21 years, working mainly for Australian construction clients. We're a small, close-knit team, and several of our people started part-time and have grown into senior roles. We update and revise existing Electrical, Hydraulic and Mechanical drawings, and put together supporting documents like Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals.

What you'll be doing

CAD drafting: making marked-up changes to existing drawings for clients in the construction industry.

O&M manuals: assembling client information in Microsoft Word and a PDF editor.

As you grow: helping with job quotes and RFIs, keeping a daily job list and monthly timesheet, tracking your hours against the quote and telling us early if a job is running over, building your own checklists so your work goes out error free, and later helping train newer team members.

We have a structure in place that will give you opportunity to grow in many areas.

What we're looking for

Foundation to Medium Level AutoCAD skills and a real wish to grow and learn.

A detailed person who is careful and patient.

Good written and verbal English, and comfortable with Word and Excel.

Someone who manages their own time and speaks up early if something isn't working.

Someone who wants to grow into more hours and more responsibility with us.
