We are building a remote video production company that helps businesses, agencies, real estate companies, and other professionals turn raw footage into high-quality social media content.
We are looking for a skilled Video Editor to join us on a long-term basis.
This is not a one-off project. Our goal is to build a reliable editing team and increase your workload as we bring on more clients.
What you'll be editing
Primarily:
- Instagram Reels
- TikTok videos
- YouTube Shorts
- Talking-head videos
- Business/marketing videos
- Real estate videos
- Interviews and other social media content
You'll take raw footage and turn it into polished, engaging content.
Your responsibilities:
- Cut and pace videos professionally
- Remove unnecessary pauses, mistakes, and filler
- Add captions/subtitles
- Clean up dialogue and improve audio
- Add B-roll when appropriate
- Add music and sound effects when appropriate
- Use basic motion graphics and transitions
- Color correct footage
- Create 9:16 social-media-ready videos
- Follow our editing guidelines and client preferences
- Make revisions based on feedback
- Keep project files organized
What we're looking for
You should:
- Professional video editing experience
- Have a strong portfolio showing short-form content
- Be highly comfortable with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro
- Understand pacing, storytelling, and retention
- Have good audio-editing skills
- Have strong attention to detail
- Be able to follow instructions accurately
- Communicate clearly in English
- Be reliable and meet deadlines
- Be comfortable working independently
Important
We're not looking for someone who simply knows how to operate editing software. We want someone who can look at raw footage and make good creative decisions.
You should understand things like:
- When to cut
- When to keep a pause
- What moments should be emphasized
- Where B-roll would improve the video
- How to keep viewers engaged
- How to make talking-head content feel natural rather than over-edited
Experience with business, agency, real estate, or marketing content is a big plus.
Hours & Pay:
Starting rate: $7–11/hour, depending on experience and editing ability. We are open to starting part-time and increasing hours as our client workload grows.
Our goal is to develop the right person into a long-term member of our editing team.
Exceptional candidates with the right experience may be considered at a higher rate.
How to Apply:
Please include the following in your application:
1. Your portfolio
Send 3–5 of your best editing examples.
At least 2 should be short-form videos.
2. Your editing software
Tell us what software you primarily use.
3. Your experience
Briefly tell us how long you've been editing professionally and what types of clients you've worked with.
4. Your weekly availability
Tell us how many hours per week you are currently available.
5. Desired rate
Rate will be determined by experience
6. Your internet/computer setup
Briefly tell us about your computer and internet connection.
7. Answer this question:
What makes a short-form video engaging and keeps someone watching until the end?
Hiring Process:
Shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete a short paid editing test using provided footage.
We are looking for someone who can become a dependable long-term part of our team, so we're much more interested in quality, reliability, and communication than simply finding the cheapest editor.
If you're interested in building something long-term with us, we'd love to hear from you.
