I’m looking for an experienced researcher who can find already-viral videos that match a specific content brief and track down their original, highest-quality raw footage.
This role requires deep research across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram,
Your responsibilities:
Discover relevant videos with an immediate hook, clear sequence of events, strong reactions, and a compelling ending.
Find fresh candidates beyond the obvious clips already circulating on competing channels.
Trace reposts and edited clips back to the original uploader or earliest verifiable source.
Locate the fullest, cleanest available footage, preferably with original audio and without added captions, music, or commentary.
Use advanced searches, reverse-image/keyframe searches, multilingual keywords, comments, and visual clues to uncover difficult-to-find sources.
Verify context, flag misleading or potentially staged footage, and avoid duplicate submissions.
Record source links, available views/engagement, key timestamps, a short summary, and why each video fits the brief. Include creator/contact details and known licensing information where available.
Competitor analysis and duplicate checks: Study competitors’ popular videos to understand what performs well, and review their upload history before submitting clips. Cross-check every candidate against competitor channels and our published and previously submitted videos. Recognize repeated footage even if the title, crop, captions, or watermark has changed. Maintain a tracking sheet and prioritize proven viral content from elsewhere that these channels have not already covered.
You should have:
Strong research experience, good English comprehension, persistence, attention to detail, and an understanding of what makes viewers keep watching a Short. You must distinguish strong source footage from a clip that only works because of someone else’s editing.
The niche, reference channels, and detailed selection criteria will be shared privately with shortlisted applicants.
To apply: Send examples of previous video research, explain how you trace a repost to its original source, and include your rate and weekly availability. Start your application with “Black Hole.”
