We are a busy U.S. podiatry and sports medicine practice seeking an experienced Medical Virtual Receptionist / Patient Care Coordinator.

We need someone who has personally worked on the front desk of a U.S. medical practice, answered a high volume of patient calls, scheduled new and established patients, handled difficult callers, returned voicemails, and followed patient requests through completion.
You should be comfortable working independently without needing to be reminded repeatedly to return calls or finish tasks.
What you will do

- Handle new-patient inquiries and help convert callers into scheduled appointments
- Determine when a patient concern needs escalation according to office protocols
- Review the patient's chart before asking another team member for information
- Document every patient interaction accurately
- Send tasks to clinical staff and follow them until resolved
- Update patients when you are still waiting for an answer
- Review patient portal messages
- Monitor incoming faxes and email
- Send and follow up on new-patient intake forms
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
- Coordinate referrals
- Assist with imaging/MRI prior authorizations
- Prepare upcoming appointments and identify missing information
- Communicate with physician offices, pharmacies, imaging facilities, and insurance companies
Who we are looking for
You should have:
- At least 2 years of recent U.S. medical receptionist / medical VA experience
- Significant experience personally answering patient calls

- Clear, natural, professional spoken English
- Strong listening skills
- Experience handling upset or demanding patients
- Excellent follow-through
- Ability to prioritize several competing tasks without being told what to do first
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfort working independently
- Reliable attendance and internet
- A quiet professional workspace
Strong preference for candidates who have:
- Worked in a private outpatient medical practice
- Managed 40+ patient calls per day
- Scheduled both new and established patients
- Used an EMR while speaking with patients
- Worked with insurance eligibility/referrals
- Experience with podiatry, orthopedics, sports medicine, ophthalmology, dermatology, primary care, or another appointment-heavy specialty
Experience with DrChrono, RingCentral, or IntakeQ is a plus but is not required.

This position requires consistent availability during your scheduled shift.
Compensation
$7–$9 USD/hour depending on experience and performance.
There will be a paid trial period before permanent placement.
