I’m looking for a talented 2D Motion Graphics Animator / YouTube Animator to help create fast-paced, entertaining videos for a brand new YouTube channel.
Our videos are based around concepts such as:
What If you were a ( job profession, celebrity, fictional character ) for 24 hours
24 Hours As
Hypothetical scenarios
Celebrity / sports / pop culture scenarios
Fictional and imaginative situations
For example:
For the first video: 24 Hours As LeBron James
The viewer is placed directly into the scenario and experiences the story as if they are the character.
-What You’ll Receive
For each video, I will provide:
* The complete script.
* The finished voiceover.
* Clear direction for the video.
* Character/reference information when needed.
* Additional references or examples when necessary.
Your job is to turn the voiceover into a complete, engaging visual experience.
You will NOT be responsible for writing the script.
-What You’ll Be Doing
You will create the visual side of the video, including:
* 2D character animation.
* Character movements and expressions.
* Creating and animating environments/backgrounds.
* Motion graphics.
* Dynamic camera movements.
* Zooms, pans, and transitions.
* Text and typography animation when appropriate.
* Visual effects.
* Scene changes synchronized with the voiceover.
* Creating visual gags and interesting moments.
* Using different shots and compositions to prevent the video from feeling static.
* Timing visuals closely to the narration, music, and sound effects.
* Turning the narration into something that feels like a real animated story.
The animation does not need to be extremely complex in every scene.
*The priority is visual storytelling, pacing, creativity, and keeping the viewer engaged.
-VERY IMPORTANT: This Is NOT a Slideshow
I am NOT looking for someone who simply puts images on screen while the voiceover plays.
The video should feel alive.
For example, if the narration says:
You walk into the arena and 40,000 people start screaming your name.”
I don't want:
A static image of an arena.
I want something more like:
The character walks into the arena → camera follows them → crowd reacts → camera pushes toward the character → text/effects emphasize the moment → transition into the next scene.
The visuals should interpret and enhance the narration, rather than simply illustrate it with static images.
-Visual Pacing
Our videos will be 12–15 minutes long ( preferable 15-17 minutes), so maintaining visual variety is extremely important.
The first video will be approximately 20 minutes but the other videos will be shorter than that.
We want the screen to constantly feel like something is happening.
Depending on the scene, this can include:
* Character animation.
* Camera movement.
* New backgrounds.
* Different camera angles.
* Zooms and pans.
* Text animation.
* Transitions.
* Visual effects.
* Animated objects.
* Environmental movement.
* Reactions and expressions.
* Creative visual jokes.
The goal is not necessarily to create a completely new animation from scratch every few seconds.
Smart reuse of characters, environments, assets, and animation is completely fine.
Constant character assets/location assets are very important
What matters is that the final video feels dynamic and entertaining rather than repetitive.
-The Style
The general visual direction is:
2D animated characters + stylized environments + dynamic camera movement + motion graphics + fast-paced editing.
We are open to different animation styles as long as the final result fits the channel.
-You can use tools such as:
* Adobe After Effects
* Adobe Animate
* Toon Boom
* Blender
* Character animation software
* AI-assisted tools
* Other professional animation software
The software you use is less important than the final result.
-AI Tools
AI-assisted workflows are completely fine for the animation/asset creation process.
-You may use AI tools to help create:
* Backgrounds.
* Character assets.
* Props.
* Reference images.
* Other visual elements.
However, the final video needs to feel cohesive and professionally produced.
I don't want a random collection of AI-generated images placed together.
NO AI SLOP.
The assets should be consistent in style and properly integrated into the animation.
-Working With the Voiceover
The voiceover will be the backbone of the video.
You should be comfortable:
* Cutting scenes precisely to narration.
* Changing visuals when the subject changes.
* Emphasizing important words or moments visually.
* Creating visual payoffs for jokes or twists.
* Using pauses in the narration effectively.
* Building momentum as the story progresses.
You should constantly be thinking:
What should the viewer be seeing at this exact moment?
-What We’re Looking For
The ideal animator has:
* Strong 2D animation skills.
* Strong understanding of motion graphics.
* Good visual storytelling instincts.
* Excellent sense of timing and pacing.
* Ability to make simple animation look entertaining.
* Strong understanding of composition and camera movement.
* Attention to detail.
* Ability to follow direction and references.
* Ability to work independently.
* Reliable communication.
* Ability to meet deadlines.
Bonus Points
* Previous experience working on YouTube channels.
* Experience with faceless YouTube content.
* Experience with animated storytelling channels.
* Experience creating character animation.
* Experience with fast-paced YouTube editing.
* Experience with AI-assisted animation workflows.
* Understanding of YouTube audience retention.
* Experience creating videos in a similar style.
Important: We Care About Retention
The purpose of the animation is not simply to make the video look good.
It needs to keep the viewer watching.
We want an animator who understands that visual changes, movement, reactions, camera work, and creative moments can all help maintain attention.
You should be able to look at a voiceover and think:
This section is getting visually repetitive — I need to change the shot, movement, environment, or presentation.
How to Apply
Please send:
1. 3–5 examples of your best animation/motion graphics work.**
2. At least one YouTube video you have worked on**, if available.
3. Examples of 2D character animation, if you have them.
4. Your preferred software.
5. Your rate per finished minute or per video.
6. Your typical turnaround time.
7. A brief explanation of how you would approach animating a 12-15 ( 20 minutes MAX) minute voiceover-driven YouTube video.
Please do not send only logo animations, corporate presentations, or basic motion graphics examples.
I am specifically looking for someone who can create engaging animated storytelling for YouTube.
Long-Term Opportunity
I’m looking for someone who can become a long-term part of the production process, rather than someone interested in completing only one video.
If we find the right person and the quality is consistent, there will be opportunities for regular videos and ongoing work.
