JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a creative, reliable social media and video editing assistant to support Brisbane Olympic Jobs and our podcast, “The Olympic Buzz – Brisbane 2032”.

Our content covers jobs, construction, sport, major projects and opportunities leading up to Brisbane 2032, including content for people considering moving from the UK and Ireland to Australia.

HOURS & PAYMENT

• 10 hours per week, working remotely.
• An agreed fixed weekly price covering those 10 hours.
• An initial two-week paid trial, with ongoing work available if we are a good fit.
• Please quote your weekly fee in AUD and state whether any software costs are additional.
• Additional hours or expenses must be approved in advance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Turn supplied podcast recordings and footage into engaging short videos for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Facebook Reels and Instagram Reels.
• Identify strong moments, hooks and stories within longer recordings.
• Add accurate subtitles, clean audio, appropriate branding and engaging captions.
• Create thumbnails and supporting social media graphics.
• Adapt content for each platform and schedule or publish approved posts.
• Use AI tools to speed up editing, transcription, content repurposing and caption writing, while checking the final work carefully.
• Maintain a simple content calendar and provide a brief weekly report covering completed work, hours used and results.
• Suggest creative ideas and take initiative.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Examples of strong short-form video editing and podcast clips.
• Good written English and attention to detail.
• Experience creating content for the four platforms listed above.
• Confidence using AI tools alongside editing and design software.
• Reliable communication and the ability to work independently.
• Good judgment when selecting clips so the speaker’s meaning remains accurate.
• Use of footage, music and images we have permission to publish.

I will provide recordings, brand assets and direction. Content must be submitted for approval before publishing, especially during the trial.

HOW TO APPLY

Please include:

1. Your fixed weekly quote for 10 hours, in AUD.
2. Two or three relevant examples of your work, explaining your contribution.
3. The editing and AI tools you use, and whether their costs are included.
4. A realistic estimate of how many unique finished clips you could produce and distribute across all four platforms within 10 hours, including revisions and scheduling.
5. Your availability and earliest start date.
6. A short explanation of how you would turn one podcast episode into a week of social content.

Please start your application with “BRISBANE 2032” so I know you have read the brief.

Shortlisted applicants may be invited to complete a small paid editing test.
