U.S. Home-Service Businesses | Part-Time
NOTE: Please apply through this job posting only. Do not contact the company by phone, text message, WhatsApp, or social media regarding this position. Qualified candidates will be contacted to schedule an interview.
We are looking for an experienced remote B2B Sales Development Representative and Appointment Setter to support a growing U.S.-based creative education and advertising business.
This is a remote sales-development position, not a customer-service role and not a general administrative virtual-assistant role.
You will make outbound calls to U.S. businesses, research and qualify prospects, speak with owners and marketing decision-makers, handle routine objections, maintain disciplined follow-up, document activity in HubSpot, and schedule qualified sales conversations.
This role creates qualified opportunities and keeps the sales pipeline organized. Depending on the prospect and sales-team structure, qualified prospects will be handed to the designated Sales Closer or founder for more detailed sales conversations and final enrollment decisions.
Our immediate focus is filling seats for Own Your Creative Workshops, an in-person professional training program that helps selected business owners and marketing professionals develop stronger AI-assisted advertising and commercial content.
This is not a generic AI class or a prompt-writing course. The workshop helps business owners think strategically about commercial creative, develop stronger advertising concepts, and use modern AI creative tools to create more effective content for their business.
Over time, the right person may also assist with outbound business development for The AI Griot Studio, our commercial creative and advertising production company.
Immediate Target Market
Our immediate outreach is focused primarily on selected U.S. home-service businesses and the owners, founders, marketing managers, and other decision-makers within those companies.
Experience calling U.S. service businesses, local or regional businesses, marketing professionals, or business owners is a plus.
The goal is not random calling or producing large lists of unqualified contacts. The goal is to identify businesses that genuinely fit our ideal client profile and begin professional conversations with the right people.
What You’ll Do
Make outbound calls to U.S. businesses from prepared lead lists.
Speak primarily with business owners, founders, marketing managers, and other decision-makers.
Introduce upcoming Own Your Creative Workshops clearly and professionally.
Ask qualifying questions and identify genuine interest.
Handle common objections in a thoughtful, conversational way.
Follow up with interested prospects by phone and
Send approved workshop information, registration links, or payment information when appropriate.
Schedule qualified sales calls with the designated Sales Closer or founder when a prospect has detailed questions, wants to discuss the opportunity further, or is ready for a higher-level sales conversation.
Update all call notes, outcomes, follow-ups, appointments, and lead statuses in HubSpot.
Use
Maintain organized follow-up activity so interested prospects do not fall through the cracks.
Use Google Workspace and Google Chat for communication, scheduling, documentation, and internal coordination.
Use Zoom Phone, or a similar VoIP or softphone platform, for outbound calling.
Provide a concise daily activity report at the end of each workday.
Sales Development and Handoff
This role is focused on prospecting, qualifying, nurturing, follow-up, appointment setting, and accurate sales-pipeline management.
You are not expected to independently close complex sales, negotiate pricing, offer discounts, promise custom deliverables, or make commitments outside the approved offer.
When a prospect has detailed questions, needs strategic guidance, wants to discuss the workshop seriously, or is ready for a sales conversation, you will schedule a qualified call with the designated Sales Closer or founder and provide complete notes in HubSpot.
Your responsibility is to make sure qualified prospects receive accurate information, timely follow-up, and a professional experience. You will help the sales team understand who the prospect is, what they need, what questions they asked, what objections they raised, and why they may be ready for the next conversation.
You Must Understand the Offer
Before making calls, you will be expected to understand:
What Own Your Creative Workshops does.
Who the workshops are for.
What attendees will learn.
What makes the workshop different from a generic AI class or prompt-writing course.
What problem the workshop solves for business owners and marketing professionals.
What we are actually selling and why it matters.
The difference between Own Your Creative Workshops and The AI Griot Studio.
The types of businesses we are targeting.
The most common questions and objections prospects are likely to have.
You will be expected to document and report recurring objections, questions, and feedback from prospects so we can refine messaging, strengthen sales materials, and develop appropriate responses.
You will receive training materials, scripts, FAQs, examples, and guidance. However, you will be expected to study the offer and understand it, not simply memorize a script.
A strong candidate will be able to explain the workshop in their own words and understand the value well enough to have a natural business conversation with a prospect.
Lead Generation and Prospecting
Some qualified lead lists will be provided. However, experience sourcing additional B2B prospects is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate can take a defined Ideal Client Profile and identify businesses that genuinely fit that profile, along with the right decision-makers to contact.
Experience with
Searching and filtering companies and contacts.
Identifying owners, founders, marketing managers, and other decision-makers.
Building targeted prospect lists.
Reviewing company information to determine whether a lead actually fits the target profile.
Organizing or exporting prospect information for CRM follow-up.
I am looking for quality over random volume.
The goal is not simply to create large lists. The goal is to find businesses that are genuinely a strong fit for the offer and engage the right decision-makers professionally.
This role supports time-sensitive outreach for upcoming Own Your Creative Workshops. Our immediate priority is filling remaining seats for the workshop scheduled for October 30, followed by the workshop scheduled for November 10. Additional details, outreach priorities, workshop information, and training materials will be provided after hiring.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
Has real outbound B2B calling experience.
Is comfortable calling people who are not expecting the call.
Can start a professional conversation without sounding robotic, overly scripted, nervous, or pushy.
Has experience with appointment setting, follow-up, and qualifying prospects.
Can handle routine objections calmly and conversationally.
Has strong listening skills and knows when to ask a good question instead of talking too much.
Can document calls accurately and consistently in a CRM.
Understands the importance of timely follow-up.
Can learn a nuanced offer and explain it in natural language.
Is reliable, accountable, organized, and professional.
Experience with any of the following is especially valuable:
B2B sales.
Cold calling.
Appointment setting.
Objection handling.
Consultative sales.
Training or education sales.
Marketing or advertising services.
SaaS or professional services.
High-ticket sales.
Lead generation.
Prospect research.
HubSpot or another CRM.
Google Workspace.
Google Chat.
Zoom Phone or another VoIP or softphone system.
U.S. business-to-business calling.
Outreach to local, regional, or home-service businesses.
Candidates with experience as an SDR, BDR, appointment setter, outbound sales specialist, or sales-focused virtual assistant are encouraged to apply.
You Must Have
At least two years of direct B2B outbound calling, B2B appointment setting, or sales-development experience with U.S. business owners, founders, marketing leaders, or other decision-makers. In your application, describe the industries, buyer titles, type of offer, and approximate call volume you handled.
Excellent spoken English.
Clear, professional communication with U.S. business owners and decision-makers.
Strong listening and conversation skills.
Confidence making outbound calls.
Strong objection-handling skills.
The ability to respond naturally instead of simply reading canned rebuttals.
The ability and willingness to learn the business, understand the offer, and speak about it confidently in your own words.
Strong follow-through.
Reliable attendance and communication.
Comfort using a CRM.
Experience working with Google Workspace.
Comfort using Google Chat.
Experience using Zoom Phone, another softphone, or a VoIP calling platform.
Reliable high-speed internet.
A quiet, professional work environment.
Reliability, Accountability, and Ethical Sales
Reliability is essential in this role. You must attend scheduled meetings, complete agreed follow-up, keep CRM records current, and communicate promptly if an unforeseen issue affects your availability.
This role involves representing the business with prospective clients. Professionalism, consistency, attention to detail, accountability, and honesty are non-negotiable.
The founder is an established business professional who values straightforward, ethical communication. We do not use misleading claims, pressure tactics, or promises that cannot be supported to win sales.
You must take the time to truly understand the offer before representing it. If you are unsure how to answer a prospect’s question, do not guess or make up an answer. Ask the founder in real time whenever possible, document the question in HubSpot when appropriate, and tell the prospect you will follow up with accurate information.
The goal is to build trust, identify genuinely qualified prospects, and make sure people have the information they need to d
Tools You Should Be Comfortable With
You do not need to be an expert in every tool on Day One. However, you should be comfortable learning business software quickly and have experience using similar systems.
HubSpot CRM.
Google Workspace.
Gmail.
Google Drive.
Google Docs.
Google Sheets.
Google Calendar.
Google Chat.
Zoom Phone or another VoIP or softphone platform.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a position where you simply read a script word-for-word all day.
You will receive basic scripts, talking points, FAQs, training, objection-handling guidance, and information about the offer. However, I want someone who can listen, think, and have a normal business conversation rather than simply read a script word for word.
You should be comfortable adapting your delivery, phrasing, and conversational approach in a way that feels natural to you, as long as it remains accurate, professional, ethical, and consistent with the approved offer, brand standards, and sales process.
You may not make up information, misrepresent the workshop, offer unapproved pricing or discounts, make promises that have not been approved, or use pressure tactics with prospects. If you are uncertain about how to respond, ask the founder rather than guessing.
You do not need to pressure people into buying.
Your responsibility is to identify the right prospects, explain the workshop clearly, answer routine questions, recognize buying signals, handle basic objections intelligently, complete consistent follow-up, and move qualified prospects toward a conversation with the designated Sales Closer or founder.
Schedule and Paid Trial Period
This position begins part-time at approximately 25 hours per week.
Most calling will take place during U.S. Eastern Time business hours. Please state your local time zone, the specific U.S. Eastern Time hours you are available to work, and whether you can reliably commit to approximately 25 hours per week.
I am looking for a dependable long-term partner, not someone to make random calls for a few weeks. If you consistently generate qualified opportunities that contribute to revenue, follow approved sales standards, communicate well, complete follow-up, and are easy to work with, the role may expand and become long-term.
The position begins with a paid trial period. During the trial, we will evaluate communication, attendance, ability to learn the offer, spoken English, call quality, CRM documentation, follow-up discipline, and overall reliability.
Daily Activity Reporting
A daily activity worksheet will be provided, or you will receive login access to HubSpot to document your activity directly in the CRM.
At the end of each workday, provide a concise report that includes:
Calls attempted.
Live conversations.

Any questions, issues, or prospects that require the Sales Closer’s or founder’s attention.
All contact activity, call notes, prospect responses, next steps, and follow-up dates must be documented accurately in the provided worksheet or HubSpot before the end of the workday.
