I'm hiring a video editor who can learn my editing style, match it closely, and deliver on time, every time. Remote, ongoing work editing short form videos every week and 1 to 2 long form episodes a month.
About me
I'm a chef and content creator running a food media brand with a large audience across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Substack. I make long form cooking shows, recipe videos, livestreams and short films. I'll share who I am with finalists.
What you'll edit
• Short form: about 4 to 6 videos a week for Reels, TikTok and Shorts (recipes, baking, lifestyle)
• Long form: 1 to 2 episodes a month for YouTube
• You'll work from raw footage, my notes and the recipe
My style (you'll need to match it)
Editorial and tasteful. Think magazine feature or documentary, not YouTube hype.
• Calmer, intentional edits that let the food, the people and the story breathe (but not boring)
• NO MrBeast-style editing: no rapid-fire cuts without rhythm, sound effects on every beat, flashing text or reaction overlays
• Personal and cultural, never generic
• Clean captions and text only where they help
• Strong first few seconds without feeling like clickbait
• No AI anything: no AI backgrounds, voices, caption styles, pop ups or generated visuals
Before your first edit, I'll send you past videos to study and a short style guide to help make your edits feel like mine.
MUST be timely
• If something's going to be late, tell me as early as possible, not on the due date
How we will work
• Footage comes through Dropbox
• Assignments and due dates live in a shared Notion board
• Drafts and notes go through a shared review link you send (
Must haves
• A portfolio with both short form and long form edits (food or lifestyle preferred)
• Strong in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve (Capcut also okay)
• A good ear for music and pacing
• Good written English and clear communication
• A track record of hitting deadlines
Nice to haves
• Experience matching an existing creator's style
• Color correction and audio cleanup
• Experience with
• Experience with cooking or documentary-style content
Biggest rule: no generative AI in my edits. No AI backgrounds, AI voices or AI pop ups.
Pay and details
• Pay: $800 to $1,200 a month depending on experience
• Start: paid test edit, then a 30 day trial, then ongoing
• Growth: this role has room to grow, with raises and potentially more projects + more responsibility for great, on-time work
• Paperwork: a simple contractor agreement with a confidentiality (NDA) section.
