# Offshore Accountant – Remote

**Location:** Remote
**Employment Type:** Full-Time
**Working Hours:** Aligned with Australian business hours
**Industry:** Tax Firm

We are looking for a **reliable and experienced Offshore Accountant** to join our growing team and support Australian accounting and bookkeeping work.

This is a long-term opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently with Australian businesses.

### Key Responsibilities

* Day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting
* Bank and credit card reconciliations
* Accounts payable and accounts receivable
* Preparation and review of financial reports
* BAS and GST bookkeeping support
* Payroll and superannuation support
* Preparation of workpapers and supporting schedules
* Data entry and maintenance of accounting records
* Assisting with month-end and year-end accounts
* Liaising with the Australian accounting team
* Identifying discrepancies and following up outstanding items
* Assisting with ATO-related matters and correspondence
* General administration and accounting support as required

### Requirements

* **Minimum 2 years' accounting or bookkeeping experience**
* **Practical, hands-on experience using Xero is essential**
* **Experience dealing with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) is essential**
* Experience preparing and managing **BAS, GST, PAYG and other ATO-related matters**
* Experience working with Australian businesses is highly desirable
* Good understanding of Australian bookkeeping and accounting principles
* Experience with MYOB, QuickBooks or similar software is an advantage
* Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Good written and spoken English
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
* Reliable internet connection and suitable home-office setup
