JOB OVERVIEW

Position Summary
Ashoori Law is a U.S. immigration law firm based in Los Angeles. It works with a national network of independent immigration attorneys. We're hiring a Video & Graphics to own the visual side of our marketing, from the weekly YouTube video to the graphics that go with every post.

In this role, you'll edit one long-form YouTube video a week and cut it into short clips for Reels, TikTok and Shorts. You'll also design the thumbnails, social graphics, carousels and blog images for our website and social channels. You'll work in Premiere Pro (or similar), Photoshop and Canva, and you'll build and maintain the templates the marketing team uses for everyday content.

Because we’re an immigration law firm, every video and graphic goes through an accuracy and compliance review before it's published. The right person takes detailed feedback well, applies edits precisely, and makes educational immigration content clear and engaging without overstating anything. You'll report to the Marketing Manager and work closely with the content, social, SEO and web development team.

Core Responsibilities
Video Editing
Edit long-form YouTube video per week, turning scripts, raw footage, graphics and other source material into a polished final production.
Cut each long-form video into 3-5 short clips for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, with captions, a strong opening hook and a closing call-to-action card.
Edit scripted short-form videos, client testimonial videos and firm introduction videos.
Add captions, lower thirds, on-screen text, b-roll, motion graphics, intros, outros and end cards, and handle audio cleanup and color correction for a consistent, professional look.
Apply reviewer notes precisely and completely, and provide an updated transcript after each revision round.
Keep project files, raw footage and final exports organized in the shared drive.
Deliver high-quality work on a consistent weekly schedule, with quick turnaround on revisions.
Graphic Design
Design YouTube thumbnails, Reel and TikTok covers, and testimonial video thumbnails.
Create social graphics and carousels for Instagram, Facebook and ---------- from blog posts, FAQs and approved client reviews.
Produce blog featured images and text-based infographics and tables for the website, optimized for web performance.
Build and maintain a Canva template library so the marketing team can produce recurring content quickly and consistently.
Support the firm's brand refresh and website redesign with visual assets, including photo retouching and consistent backgrounds on attorney headshots.
Editorial & Brand Standards
Use sound editorial judgment to create content that is clear, accurate and engaging for people navigating immigration questions.
Make sure all videos and graphics follow Ashoori Law's brand guidelines and the legal advertising rules for law firms.
Submit all work through the firm's accuracy and compliance review before publishing, and implement required changes promptly.
Follow YouTube and social platform community guidelines and content policies.
Work with the marketing, content, social, SEO and web development teams so content meets creative and strategic goals.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Stay current on YouTube and short-form editing best practices, thumbnail trends, audience behavior and new content formats.
Review high-performing immigration and legal education content for format and style ideas, without copying anyone's wording or creative.
Use performance data (click-through rate, watch time, engagement) to improve thumbnails, hooks and pacing over time.
Suggest improvements to editing workflows, templates and production efficiency.

Qualifications
3+ years of experience of professional video editing and graphic design experience
A portfolio showing edited YouTube videos, short-form vertical videos, thumbnails and social graphics or carousels.
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (or DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro), Adobe Photoshop and Canva.
Experience editing educational, talking-head or explainer content for YouTube.
Working knowledge of platform formats and specs, including 16:9, 9:16 and 4:5, safe zones and caption styles.
Strong attention to detail, especially with on-screen text, spelling and accuracy.
Ability to take detailed feedback and implement revisions precisely and on deadline.
Strong organization and project management skills; able to juggle a weekly video alongside ongoing design requests.
Clear written and verbal communication.
Reliable internet connection and availability during PST business hours.

Preferred
Experience creating content for law firms, legal media, or other regulated industries such as finance or healthcare.
Familiarity with YouTube Studio analytics and thumbnail testing.
Adobe After Effects or similar motion graphics experience.
Adobe Illustrator

One polished YouTube video and its short-form clips delivered on schedule every week.
Thumbnails and graphics that are on-brand, consistent and improving in click-through rate and engagement over time.
Reviewer notes applied correctly the first time, with fewer compliance revisions as you learn the firm's standards.
