Creative Content Editor for Creator – Grow With Me
Hi I'm Lauri - a content creator with an audience in Germany, and I'm now building my English-speaking audience in the US from the ground up. I'm looking for one creative person who wants to build this with me.
What the job really looks like:
I film everything. My footage folder gets a lot of new material all the time, and much of it is long, raw, unedited video. Your job is to go through it, find the gold and cut it out. That takes patience and a good eye, because the best 20 seconds are often hidden in a 40-minute clip.
From that footage you make:
- Reels, TikToks and YouTube Shorts
- Longer YouTube vlogs
- Trend formats
- Occasional carousel posts (photos + text)
This is not a "cut exactly what I tell you" job. You pick the moments, you find the hooks, you bring the ideas.
How we work together:
I'm looking for someone reliable who works closely with me but can also work on their own. You only edit, so your job is to choose well: pick the moments and angles where I look my best and leave out the rest. I often say or do something three or four times in a row. You find the best take and use that one.
Over time you learn what I like, take it on board and adapt your edits to it. I'm very open, and your own creativity is more than welcome. What matters to me is that you can take honest feedback well and use it to get better.
You:
- Have a sense of humor and know how to edit for it: timing, cuts, zooms, sound effects, text. My content should be fun to watch
- Have a good eye when selecting footage: you choose the most flattering moments and the best take
- Can spot the funny, surprising or relatable moment in long raw footage
- Edit short-form and long-form (CapCut or Premiere)
- Can build carousels (Canva is fine)
- Know what works for a US audience: trends, sounds, hooks and pacing
- Work independently without daily instructions
- Write good English, so captions and on-screen text are error-free
What you get:
- creative freedom
- A long-term role with one creator, not one-off gigs
- Room to grow: we start with about 12 hours a week, and this can increase quickly if it goes well. Your pay and responsibility grow with it
About my content: I make travel and lifestyle content, with daily vlogs, some beauty and make-up, and a bit of fashion now and then. I travel all the time, so the footage is varied: new places, everyday moments, getting ready, trying things out. No two weeks look the same.
Details:
- About 12 hours/week to start, flexible schedule (more hours possible soon)
- $5/hour, about $260/month to start
- English content
- Time tracked with TimeProof
- Paid test task before hiring
To apply:
Put "Mango" in the subject line and send 2 short-form videos and 1 long-form video you edited. Tell me in 2-3 sentences which US creators you think edit well and why.
Can't wait to see what you create. Lauri
