Part Time Insurance Verification Specialist / Revenue Support , US Medical Billing
WHAT THIS IS
Part time, 20 to 25 hours per week.
$500 per month, split twice a month on the 5th and the 20th.
Long term and dedicated. You work for me only, not for a pool or a queue.
I run a medical billing company in Los Angeles handling billing for outpatient physical therapy practices. You would be the first person I hire, working directly with me. The role will grow as the company does, and so will the pay.
THE WORK
Calling US insurance companies to verify patient eligibility and benefits. This is most of the job and you will have a written script for it.
Working in insurance portals. Some payers do not take phone calls for eligibility, so you will be pulling benefits directly from Blue Shield, Availity, and others. You will have logins and I will show you where everything lives.
Submitting prior authorization requests and following up until they are approved.
Calling insurance companies about unpaid claims to find out what is holding them up, and reporting back.
Tracking how many visits are left on each patient's authorization and flagging the ones running low.
Daily tasks from a list I send you. Some days that is all calls. Some days I will need help with something else. I want someone who can pick up whatever is in front of them.
As you learn the work there is room to take on more. The pay grows with the responsibility.
HOURS
You need to work US Pacific business hours, roughly 11pm to 8am Manila time, Monday through Friday. The insurance companies and portals are only open then, so this is not flexible.
Around 4 to 5 hours per day. We can agree on the exact window.
If you have not worked a graveyard shift before, please do not apply. It is harder than people expect.
WHAT MAKES YOU A FIT
You have worked in medical software before. A practice management system, an electronic health record, a billing platform, a clearinghouse portal. I am not looking to teach someone what a claim is. Tell me which systems you have used.
Clear spoken English. You will be on the phone with American insurance representatives every day. They talk fast and they will mishear you. This matters more than anything else on this list.
You follow a checklist exactly and you do not guess. If something is missing, you flag it. You never fill in a blank with your best guess.
You write down numbers accurately and read them back to confirm.
You can work on your own without being chased. I will give you the list, you work it, you tell me when something does not make sense.
WHAT I AM NOT LOOKING FOR
Agencies. I want one person I work with directly.
Someone juggling five other clients. Part time does not mean occasional.
HOW TO APPLY
Send me a message with:
A short voice recording, one minute is plenty, telling me about your experience and which medical systems you have worked in. I need to hear how you sound on the phone.
Your answer to this: a patient has a $3,400 deductible and has paid $257.57 toward it. How much is remaining?
The word "claims" at the top of your message so I know you read the whole posting.
Applications without all three will not get a reply.
