Job Summary:
We are hiring a Construction Estimating and Bid Support Assistant to take charge of preparing project estimates and bid submissions for our growing business. You will work through solicitation documents, build accurate cost estimates, and make sure every bid package is complete and on time. Strong math skills and a construction or engineering-minded approach are a must.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build detailed construction estimates for bids, quotes, and solicitations
- Study project scopes and bid documents to identify materials, labor, and cost needs
- Put together complete bid packages, including forms, supporting documents, and portal uploads
- Answer RFIs, RFQs, and solicitations from larger contractors
- Keep track offbid deadlines, submissions, and results
- Watch website and
- Keep estimates, templates, and bid records neatly organized
- Refine estimating templates and cost data to work faster and more accurately
Mandatory Skills:
- Proven experience creating construction estimates or quantity takeoffs
- Strong math and analytical ability
- Able to read construction plans, scopes of work, and specifications
- Experience preparing bid packages, proposals, or tender documents
- Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets and common document tools
- Clear written English and professional
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Architecture, engineering, or construction-related education
- Experience with estimating or takeoff software
- Familiarity with RFI/RFQ processes and bid portals
- Knowledge of costing for renovation and new construction projects
- Experience managing an inbox and following up on inquiries
- Able to juggle multiple bids and deadlines at once
