Position Summary
The Healthcare Data Analyst will support client reporting and analytics initiatives by analyzing prescription savings, pharmacy utilization, and healthcare data to deliver accurate, actionable insights to clients and internal stakeholders. This role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, database experience, and proficiency with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
The ideal candidate has approximately four years of analytical experience, including at least two years working with healthcare data, and is comfortable translating complex datasets into clear reports, dashboards, and business insights.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze prescription savings, pharmacy, claims, utilization, and related healthcare data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of client savings.
• Develop and maintain recurring client reports, dashboards and analytical deliverables (preferably with experience in PowerBI or Tableau).
• Prepare, validate, and reconcile large datasets to ensure accuracy and consistency in client-facing reporting.
• Use advanced Excel capabilities, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, formulas, data validation, Power Query, and other analytical functions.
• Query and analyze data from databases to support reporting, client requests, and ad hoc analysis.
• Translate complex healthcare and prescription data into concise, understandable insights for clients and business stakeholders.
• Investigate data discrepancies, identify root causes, and work with internal teams to resolve reporting issues.
• Automate and improve recurring reporting processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Partner with account management, client services, pharmacy teams, and other stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver meaningful analyses.
• Support ad hoc client requests involving prescription utilization, savings opportunities, costs, trends, and performance metrics.
• Maintain documentation of reporting processes, data sources, business rules, and analytical methodologies.
• Handle sensitive healthcare information in accordance with applicable privacy, security, and company requirements.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 4+ years of analytical or data analysis experience.
• 2+ years of healthcare analytics or healthcare data experience (pharmacy or PBM experience a plus).
• Advanced/expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working with relational databases and extracting/analyzing data.
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau for reporting and data visualization.
• Experience with SQL
• Strong understanding of data quality, validation, reconciliation, and analytical methodologies.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
