JOB OVERVIEW

----------
NYC Mobile Salon is looking for someone who lives and breathes the beauty industry and wants the opportunity to help build and eventually run a growing beauty-services company.
This is not a generic VA position.
You will start as an Administrator, Operations, but the goal is to train you to become the Operations Manager responsible for NYC Mobile Salon.
The infrastructure is built. The brand already exists. Customer inquiries have already come in.
Now we need someone who understands beauty to take ownership of it.
You MUST understand the beauty industry
This requirement is non-negotiable.
We're looking for someone who understands the world of:
Hair. Nails. Makeup. Lashes. Brows. Styling. Bridal. Events. Beauty professionals. Salon services. Mobile beauty.
You don't necessarily need to personally perform every service.
But when a customer says:
“I need hair and makeup for six bridesmaids at a Manhattan hotel starting at 7 AM,”

you need to understand what that actually means operationally.
When a stylist tells you what she specializes in, you should understand whether she's the right professional for the booking.
When we're recruiting beauty professionals, you need to know what questions to ask and what quality looks like.
Your mission
Build the beauty-professional network and turn customer demand into completed appointments.
Your job will involve both sides of the marketplace:
CUSTOMERS
and
BEAUTY PROFESSIONALS.
You need to make sure we have enough qualified professionals to fulfill the services customers request—and enough customers to keep those professionals working.
Recruiting is a major part of this job
You must be comfortable finding, contacting, interviewing and recruiting beauty professionals.
That includes:
- Hair stylists
- Hair colorists
- Blowout specialists
- Barbers
- Nail technicians
- Makeup artists
- Bridal specialists
- Lash technicians
- Brow specialists
- Natural-hair specialists
- Braiders
- Extension specialists
- Event beauty teams
- Other qualified beauty professionals
You will help build a deep NYC provider network.
That means actively recruiting through:
- Social media
- Beauty communities
- Instagram
- TikTok
- Facebook groups
- Job boards
- Referrals
- Beauty schools
- Existing salon professionals
- Independent professionals
- Direct outreach
Don't wait for applicants.
Go find the people we need.
You need to know how to evaluate talent
Getting 100 applications means nothing if the professionals aren't good.
You'll need to evaluate:
- Experience
- Specialties
- Portfolio
- Professional presentation
- Communication
- Availability
- Service areas
- Reliability
- Pricing expectations
- Equipment/products
- Licensing where applicable
- Customer-service ability
Eventually, you should know:
“This booking came in. I know exactly who should handle it.”
Customer operations
You'll also help manage customers from inquiry through completed service.
That includes:
- Responding to inquiries quickly
- Understanding exactly what service the customer needs
- Gathering photos/details when necessary
- Quoting/pricing
- Booking
- Scheduling
- Matching professionals
- Confirming appointments
- Handling changes
- Monitoring service completion
- Resolving problems
- Payments
- Reviews
- Repeat bookings
- Follow-up
Customers may be:
NYC residents, hotel guests, brides, wedding parties, executives, event attendees, tourists, photo shoots, corporate groups, or people who simply want beauty services brought to them.
You need to understand how their needs differ.
This business needs someone aggressive about growth
By aggressive, we don't mean rude.
We mean:
You recruit.
You follow up.
You solve problems.
You don't let leads disappear.
You don't wait for somebody else to find a stylist.
If a customer wants a service tomorrow and we don't currently have the right professional:
Go find one.
That's the mentality.
Full Loop CRM
NYC Mobile Salon operates through Full Loop CRM, our service-business operating platform.
You'll learn to manage:
- Leads
- Customers
- Communications
- Phone
- SMS
- Email
- Bookings
- Scheduling
- Professionals
- Payments
- Reviews
- Recruiting
- Operations
- Reporting
The technology handles much of the infrastructure.
You handle the business.
Operations Manager in Training
We're not looking for someone to remain an administrator forever.
The intended progression is:
Administrator → Senior Administrator → Operations Manager
Eventually, the Operations Manager should be able to own:
Provider network
Customers
Bookings
Recruiting
Revenue
Service quality
Operations
Growth
The founder should be able to ask:
“How is Mobile Salon doing?”

And you should know the answer.
Speed matters
Beauty customers don't wait forever.
Wedding inquiries don't wait.
Hotel guests don't wait.
A customer looking for somebody tonight or tomorrow doesn't care that you're still organizing your spreadsheet.
We expect:
SPEED + ACCURACY + CONFIDENCE.
If something is urgent, handle it.
If you don't know something, find out.
If a professional doesn't respond, contact another one.
If a customer goes quiet, follow up.
If something goes wrong, solve it.
Compensation
Starting pay:
$200 USD/week
Your first stage is about learning the company and proving yourself.
After successfully demonstrating performance and increased responsibility, compensation can progress:
$200 → $250 → $300 → $350 → $400 → $500/week
Progression is based on performance, responsibility, reliability and results.
There is also an opportunity to enter the company's profit-share/performance program as your responsibility grows.
We want someone who helps build value to have an opportunity to participate in the value they help create.
Who we're looking for
You should be:
- Experienced with or deeply knowledgeable about beauty
- Comfortable recruiting
- Comfortable interviewing people
- Comfortable making hiring recommendations
- Excellent in English
- Confident on the phone
- Fast
- Organized
- Sales-minded
- Customer-focused
- Comfortable under pressure
- Good at matching people to services
- Familiar with social media
- Comfortable conducting direct outreach
- Technologically capable
- Able to work independently
- Persistent
- Creative
- Hungry to grow
- Interested in eventually managing the business
Beauty-industry experience is strongly preferred.
Experience working with salons, spas, beauty brands, stylists, nail technicians, makeup artists, bridal teams or beauty marketplaces is particularly relevant.
Do NOT apply if...
You know nothing about beauty.
You aren't comfortable recruiting.
You don't like speaking with customers.
You wait for applicants instead of finding people.
You're afraid to call or message strangers.
You work slowly.
You need repeated reminders.
You freeze when something goes wrong.
You need someone to tell you exactly what to do every hour.
We need someone who can eventually run this company.
Forget the résumé
Your first application is a video.
Go look at NYC Mobile Salon and understand what we're building.
Then send me a 2–5 minute video.
Tell me:
- Who are you?
- What's your connection to the beauty industry?
- What beauty services do you understand best?
- Why should I put you in charge of building this?
- How would you recruit 25 qualified beauty professionals in NYC?
- How would you determine whether a stylist or technician is actually good?
- Where would you find professionals?
- How would you handle a bridal party needing multiple professionals simultaneously?
- What would you do if a customer needed a stylist tomorrow and nobody on the existing roster was available?
- How would you grow NYC Mobile Salon?
- What would you accomplish during your first 30 days?
Most importantly:
“If I give you NYC Mobile Salon tomorrow, what are you going to do with it?”
Send your video directly to Jeff on WhatsApp
+1 (212) ---------- Send:
Your name + “NYC Mobile Salon” + your video.
No résumé required.
No generic cover letter.
Show me that you understand beauty. Show me that you can recruit. Show me that you can move fast. And show me why you should be the person who eventually runs NYC Mobile Salon.
