JOB OVERVIEW

# Senior Fashion Product Researcher & Shopify Product Lister

We are looking for a highly experienced **Fashion Product Researcher & Shopify Product Lister** to help research, select and list products for our international fashion e-commerce stores.

This is a senior position. It is not suitable for beginners, general virtual assistants or candidates who have only completed basic Shopify product uploads.

## Mandatory Experience Requirement

You must have previous professional experience working with one or more **fashion e-commerce stores generating at least $5,000 in daily revenue**.

This is a mandatory requirement, not a preference.

You must be able to demonstrate:

\- Which fashion stores you worked with
\- How much daily or monthly revenue these stores generated
\- Which countries and markets the stores operated in
\- How long you worked with each store
\- What your personal responsibilities were
\- How many products you researched and listed
\- Which research methods and tools you used
\- Which results your product selections achieved

You must be prepared to provide anonymized screenshots, reports, examples, a Loom video or a live screenshare.

If you worked as part of a larger team, you must clearly explain which work you personally performed. Do not claim the total results of a store or agency as your own.

Confidential information may be hidden, but your experience must still be verifiable.

**If you do not have demonstrable experience with fashion stores generating at least $5,000 per day, please do not apply.**

## About the Position

You will be responsible for the complete process from product-category research to creating finished Shopify product listings.

You will not randomly import products from competitors or suppliers. Every product recommendation must be supported by search demand, trend data, competitor evidence, supplier information, pricing and expected margins.

Approved products must then be converted into complete, unique and Google Shopping-compliant Shopify listings.

## Product Research Responsibilities

\- Analyse the existing product range of each fashion store
\- Identify missing and underrepresented fashion categories
\- Research detailed fashion categories and subcategories
\- Use Google Keyword Planner to verify search demand
\- Use Google Trends to analyse seasonal and long-term demand
\- Recognize the difference between seasonal and evergreen categories
\- Identify product categories before their demand begins to peak
\- Plan product launches several weeks or months in advance
\- Analyse successful fashion competitors and their bestselling categories
\- Find concrete products within approved categories
\- Use competitor stores, Google Shopping, Meta Ads Library and other relevant sources
\- Research suitable suppliers for selected products
\- Verify purchasing prices, shipping costs and delivery times
\- Compare products with trustworthy fashion competitors
\- Calculate possible selling prices and profit margins
\- Review available sizes, colours and variants
\- Identify potential quality, sizing, compliance and return risks
\- Provide screenshots, links and evidence for every recommendation
\- Maintain organized lists of approved, rejected and previously researched products

## Shopify Product Listing Responsibilities

\- Create complete Shopify listings for approved fashion products
\- Write unique, keyword-focused product titles
\- Include relevant fashion keywords without keyword stuffing
\- Write clear, persuasive and original product descriptions
\- Use AI to improve titles, descriptions and listing quality
\- Manually review and correct all AI-generated content
\- Select and organize high-quality product images
\- Edit or replace unsuitable supplier images when needed
\- Remove watermarks, logos, text and supplier information
\- Add and verify all sizes, colours and variants
\- Check that images and variants match correctly
\- Set accurate prices and comparison prices
\- Complete product categories, product types, vendors, collections and tags
\- Write SEO titles and meta descriptions
\- Complete all relevant Google Shopping attributes
\- Ensure that the product URL matches the final product title
\- Upload all products to Shopify as drafts
\- Complete a final quality-control checklist before requesting approval

Products must never be published without approval.

## Research Standards

Every product recommendation must include:

\- Product category
\- Search volume or demand information
\- Trend direction
\- Seasonal timing
\- Recommended launch period
\- Competitor examples
\- Supplier link
\- Purchasing price including shipping
\- Suggested selling price
\- Expected product margin
\- Available sizes, colours and variants
\- Potential risks
\- A clear recommendation and explanation
\- Screenshots or other supporting evidence

If information cannot be confirmed, write “not established.” Never invent numbers or present assumptions as facts.

## Google Shopping and Compliance

You must understand how product data affects Google Shopping and Google Merchant Center.

You must be able to recognize and avoid:

\- Replica and counterfeit fashion products
\- Unauthorized brands and logos
\- Copyrighted products
\- Watermarked supplier images
\- Text or promotional claims on main product images
\- Copied competitor titles and descriptions
\- Incorrect or misleading product information
\- Incorrect size and colour variants
\- Unrealistic discounts
\- Medical or health claims
\- Product URLs that do not match the listing
\- Missing Google Shopping attributes
\- Supplier names being used as the webshop vendor

Accuracy and compliance are more important than uploading large numbers of poor-quality products.

## Required Skills

\- Demonstrable experience with fashion e-commerce stores generating at least $5,000 per day
\- Professional experience with fashion product research
\- Professional experience creating Shopify product listings
\- Strong understanding of fashion categories and seasonal demand
\- Experience using Google Keyword Planner
\- Experience using Google Trends
\- Knowledge of Google Shopping and Google Merchant Center
\- Strong competitor-research skills
\- Experience researching suppliers, prices and margins
\- Ability to interpret data and explain product decisions
\- Excellent written English
\- Excellent attention to detail
\- Ability to follow detailed SOPs and checklists
\- Experience using AI tools without blindly trusting their output
\- Ability to work independently
\- Clear and reliable communication

## Preferred Experience

\- Experience with fashion stores operating in the United States, United Kingdom or Europe
\- Experience with general fashion or large-catalogue stores
\- Experience with women’s fashion
\- Experience with fashion dropshipping suppliers
\- Experience with Google Shopping product-feed optimization
\- Experience building seasonal fashion calendars
\- Experience working with multiple Shopify stores
\- Experience researching hundreds of products per month

## What We Are Looking For

We want someone who:

\- Already knows how professional fashion product research works
\- Understands that personal taste is not product research
\- Can distinguish a product from a product category
\- Uses search demand and trend data when making decisions
\- Understands seasonal fashion demand
\- Can recognize a promising category before it becomes saturated
\- Does not blindly copy competitors or suppliers
\- Can create original listings from supplier information
\- Notices small errors before a listing is submitted
\- Uses AI to increase productivity without sacrificing accuracy
\- Takes responsibility for the quality of their work
\- Is looking for a stable, long-term position

## Performance Indicators

Your performance will be evaluated based on:

\- Quality of product recommendations
\- Accuracy of research and calculations
\- Profitability of selected products
\- Performance of selected categories after launch
\- Quality and completeness of Shopify listings
\- Number of avoidable listing errors
\- Compliance with our SOPs
\- Consistency of weekly output
\- Ability to meet agreed deadlines
\- Quality of communication and reporting

We value quality over volume. Uploading many weak products is not considered good performance.

## Working Arrangement

\- Remote position
\- Long-term opportunity
\- Approximately 20 to 40 hours per week
\- Flexible working hours with agreed deadlines
\- Weekly reporting and regular communication
\- Compensation based on proven experience and ability
\- A paid test assignment will be part of the selection process

## Paid Test Assignment

Shortlisted candidates will receive a paid test assignment.

The assignment may include:

\- Researching one fashion category
\- Checking search volume and trend direction
\- Finding suitable fashion products and suppliers
\- Comparing competitor prices
\- Calculating the expected selling price and margin
\- Explaining why a product should or should not be added
