Hi! We run a streetwear and hikewear clothing brand - jackets and tracksuits
mainly - and we're looking for a designer to work with us on our drops, long-term.
We care far more about your portfolio than your CV. We're qualifying people on two
things: YOUR PREVIOUS WORK, and WHICH BRANDS YOU'VE WORKED WITH. So show us as
much as you can - the more pieces we can actually look at, the better we can judge
whether you're the right fit for our style. Please read the apply section before
you send anything.
WHAT YOU'D BE DOING
- Designing garments for our drops - jackets and tracksuits mainly, plus hoodies,
tees and other outerwear.
- Print, graphic and embroidery design, and d
garment.
- Mockups and flats - both the ones we use to d
put on the website and in ads.
- Tech packs / spec sheets our manufacturer can build from: measurements,
colourways, construction notes, artwork as vectors at print resolution. If
you've never made one, that's fine - we already have our own tech packs and
we'll give you ours as the template to follow.
- Revisions. We'll give direction and you'll iterate with us.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- YOU MUST HAVE DESIGNED FOR A CLOTHING BRAND BEFORE, or at least worked with
real brands. Apparel specifically, not general graphic design.
- A GOOGLE DRIVE LINK with your previous work, set so anyone with the link can
view it. This is the main thing we hire on, so put as much in it as you can -
not just two pieces.
- NAME THE BRANDS you did each piece for. Who you've worked with counts as much as
the designs.
- TELL US WHICH PIECES WERE ACTUALLY PRODUCED AND SOLD, and if you have photos of
the finished garment, put them next to the design file. This is the single most
important thing in your application. Concepts and mockups that never got made
are fine to include, just label them honestly as concepts.
- Tech pack experience is a big plus and it affects your pay - if you have one,
put it in the folder. If you don't, say so honestly; we'll teach you using our
own templates.
- What you design in (Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO3D, Procreate).
- Good written English, and good enough spoken English for a short call.
WHAT WE DON'T NEED
- A team or an agency. We're hiring one person directly.
- Someone who only does logos.
HOURS AND PAY
Flexible, project-based to start, around 10 hours a week, growing with the brand.
$6-8 USD/hour depending on your portfolio and whether you can do tech packs, or a
fixed price per design or per tech pack if you'd rather - tell us which you prefer
and what you'd charge.
HOW TO APPLY
Start your reply with the word STITCH so we know you read this.
Then send us:
1. Your Google Drive link, set to "anyone with the link can view"
2. The brands you've designed for
3. Which pieces were actually manufactured and sold
4. Whether you've made tech packs before (honestly - we'll teach it if not)
5. Your rate, and whether you prefer hourly or per design
6. Your WhatsApp number
