JOB OVERVIEW

Sr. QA Test Automation Engineer

The Sr. QA Test Automation Engineer is responsible for designing automation tests, developing and executing automated scripts, solving automation challenges, and implementing automation frameworks. The Sr. QA Test Automation Engineer will work closely with the QA technical lead to enforce and refine Quality Assurance standards and measures across the organization. This role requires proven software development skills, auto test skills, analytical and problem-solving skills to validate automation processes through rigorous testing, ensuring IT investments achieve maximum benefits.

Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain test scripts using Playwright or other QA Automation tools.
• Develop automated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Pipeline.
• Monitor and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines, ensuring timely and successful delivery of software.
• Work closely with developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the proper implementation of quality assurance processes and standards.
• Create, maintain, and enforce test plans, strategies, and standards for software development projects.
• Develop, document and execute automated tests to ensure product quality and verify bug fixes.
• Create and execute manual test cases based on project requirements.
• Analyze and recommend improvements in software to enhance user experience.
• Track and manage defects, ensure timely resolution, and report on the progress of testing.
• Lead efforts in continuous improvement for test automation, including tool evaluation and selection.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure testing timelines align with project schedules.
• Facilitate communication and coordination between QA, development teams, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities and timelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned, such as patch, smoke and regression testing on other projects.

Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related field) with 4+ years of related work experience, or Master’s Degree in Computer Science (or related field) with at least six (6) years of work experience in test automation.

Skills:
• Strong experience designing and maintaining enterprise-scale test automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress with scalable, reusable architecture.
• Expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript design patterns, object-oriented programming principles, and clean code practices.
• Hands-on experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools, including automated quality gates and release validation.
• Deep understanding of test strategy development, automation ROI analysis, risk-based testing, and automation governance.
• Experience working with large monorepos or multi-repository enterprise applications, including branching strategies, merge conflict resolution, and repository maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of API testing and automation using REST, GraphQL, Postman, Playwright API, Swagger/OpenAPI, and contract testing frameworks.
• Experience with database validation and backend testing, including complex SQL queries, data integrity verification, and ETL validation.
• Proficiency in implementing cross-browser, cross-device, and accessibility testing (WCAG compliance).
• Experience integrating automation into cloud-based environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience with AI-assisted testing tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor or intelligent test generation solutions.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring platforms such as Application Insights, Splunk, Datadog, or New Relic.
• Strong understanding of test data management, test environment management, mocking, and service virtualization.
• Experience monitoring and improving test execution performance, stability, flaky test reduction, and automation reliability metrics.
• Ability to perform code reviews for automation scripts and establish automation engineering standards and best practices.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and executing automated tests in containerized environments.
• Knowledge of performance and load testing tools such as JMeter, k6, or LoadRunner.
• Experience implementing security testing practices and integrating security scans into CI/CD workflows.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with Developers, Architects, Product Owners, DevOps Engineers, and QA leadership.
• Ability to define and execute an enterprise automation roadmap.
• Experience managing automation suites with thousands of tests while maintaining execution efficiency and reliability.
• Expertise in pipeline optimization, parallel execution, test sharding, and reducing feedback cycle times.
• Ability to establish automation KPIs, quality metrics, and reporting mechanisms for leadership visibility.
• Experience troubleshooting complex production-like environments and identifying root causes across application, infrastructure, and test layers.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Job Location
• Remote work from home. Available to overlap at least 4 hours in USA EST 9am -5pm
