Wanted: A Social Media VA Who Can Make a Book Launch Go Viral
September 25, 2026 Pay: $425/month (about 15 hrs/week, roughly $6 to $7/hr) Start: Immediately. Our book launches at the end of October, and presale content needs to start now. Engagement: This is a paid trial period during our book launch and presale phase. If it's a good fit on both sides, this converts into an ongoing long-term role with increased hours and pay as scope grows.
About the Role
We're launching a new book and need a sharp, creative, reliable social media VA to run day to day content and community engagement during the presale and launch period.
We'll share the specific book, genre, and brand voice during the interview. For now, what matters most is that you know how to run a book launch on social media: build hype, turn reviews into content, and keep momentum going daily.
This is not a "schedule 3 generic posts and walk away" role. We want someone who thinks like a book marketer.
We're hiring fast. We review applications daily and move quickly to interviews. If you meet the bar below, apply now instead of waiting.
Day to Day Responsibilities
Post 2 to 3 times a day across the platforms we assign, with content tailored to each one, not the same copy pasted everywhere
Manage multiple social accounts. The exact platforms will be confirmed during the interview, but may include a mix of
Set up new accounts or platforms as needed, for example launching a new author newsletter from scratch
Drive presale promotion with ongoing content built specifically to convert followers into pre orders
Repurpose reviews and UGC. When we get a media review, reader review, or influencer post, turn it into multiple pieces of fresh content: quote graphics, short video, carousel posts, Stories, and so on
Create original content: graphics, short form video, and copy suited to each platform's style
Advise on link in bio strategy. Help us d
Administer accounts. You'll be given admin level access to manage posting, scheduling, and basic account settings
Who We're Looking For
This role is for an experienced social media VA. Don't apply if you're just starting out, a student, or can't show real client work. We need someone who can hit the ground running with zero training.
2+ years managing social media accounts professionally, for real clients. Not your own personal account, not a school project
A portfolio showing accounts you've actually grown or run, with at least one specific, measurable result you can point to (for example, "grew an author or brand IG from 2K to 15K in 6 months")
Strong eye for content. You can write engaging copy AND put together simple graphics or short video edits (Canva, CapCut, or similar)
Familiarity with BookTok, Bookstagram, or book launch marketing trends is a big plus
Comfortable working independently and proactively. You should be pitching content ideas, not waiting for direction
Reliable weekday availability and good communication in English
Trustworthy with admin level access to client accounts. 2 client references required, with actual contact info we can reach
We verify everything. We check portfolios, live links, and past work claims before responding. If your portfolio doesn't match what you claim in your application, or it turns out to belong to someone else or a company you don't actually work for, your application is disqualified immediately. This isn't a formality. We've caught this before.
Quick Test Task (required to apply, no exceptions)
We get a lot of applicants, and this helps us see how you actually think about content. It should take 15 to 20 minutes:
Imagine we just received this reader review: "I could not put this book down. The world-building alone made me forget I had a job to go to." Show us 3 different ways you'd turn this into content across 3 different platforms (an IG Story, a TikTok concept, an X post). A few lines describing each is fine, no need for finished graphics.
If you skip this, we skip your application. We're not interested in generic capability lists. We want to see how you actually think.
If you're selected for an interview, be ready to do a live version of a similar exercise, on the spot, with a review you haven't seen before. Your written answer should reflect how you'd genuinely respond in real time, not something polished over hours or generated by AI.
How to Apply
Please include all of the following. Incomplete applications will not be considered:
Your portfolio or links to social accounts you've managed, with at least one specific, measurable result
Which social media platforms you have hands on experience managing (Instagram, TikTok,
Your response to the test task above
2 client references (name and how we can reach them, not "available upon request")
Your available hours per week and time zone
Confirmation you're available at $425/month for this trial period, with the understanding that pay and hours increase if it becomes ongoing
If you've read this closely, work your favorite color into your application somewhere. It doesn't need to be obvious. It just helps us see who reads carefully before applying.
This is a real, paying role with a real deadline, not a portfolio building exercise. If you can't meet the requirements above starting immediately, please don't apply. We won't have time to follow up individually with everyone, so we'll only be responding to complete, qualifying applications.
