The IT Manager is responsible for ensuring our technology infrastructure, tools, and processes support a growing team efficiently and securely. This is a founding IT role - the company has some processes in place but much of the IT function is underdeveloped, and this person will be expected to both operate hands-on from day one and build the systems and standards that scale with us.
A core initial focus is identity and access management: managing the full user lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding, and ensuring access to tools is accurate, timely, and auditable. Alongside this, the role is responsible for identifying gaps in our IT processes and building the policies, documentation, and workflows to close them.
This role reports to the CTO and works closely with HR, Operations, and team leads across the business. The right person is equally comfortable executing day-to-day access tasks and stepping back to design the process around them. They have strong Google Workspace Admin experience, a solid understanding of IAM concepts, and the judgment to prioritise what to build first in an environment where not everything exists yet.
Core Responsibilities
- Review and approve access requests for all new hires. For tools with direct integrations, approval triggers automatic provisioning. For tools without, manually complete the setup inside the tool itself.
- Offboard departing employees same business day — approve removal and manually revoke access in any tools that require it.
- Process access change requests — update a user's permission when their role, responsibilities, or required access level changes.
- Work with managers to create and maintain access templates when new role types are added.
- Run periodic access reviews to confirm the access inventory is accurate and up to date.
- Identify gaps in existing IT processes and build the policies, documentation, and workflows to address them.
- Own IT policy development — covering areas such as device management, acceptable use, data handling, and security standards.
- Be the first point of contact for access requests, access questions, and IT support across the business.
- Keep process documentation current so every access change and IT procedure is repeatable and auditable.
