JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT US
We are an Australian digital agency working with service-based businesses. Our services include WordPress websites, SEO, Google Business Profile management, Google Ads management, hosting, maintenance and technical support.
We are looking for an experienced WordPress Technical Specialist to join our team as a long-term Philippines-based contractor.
This is a hands-on technical role for someone who is confident in their ability, works well independently and can take technical work off our CEO and wider team. Working hours must overlap with Australian business hours, with a start time no later than 10:00 am Sydney time.

HONESTY MATTERS TO US
You do not need to know everything, and we do not expect you to.
We would much rather you tell us accurately where you are strong, where you have less experience and when you need to investigate something.
There is no advantage in overstating your skills.
Every shortlisted applicant completes practical technical tests based on the skills and experience you tell us you have.
Making a mistake is not a problem. Hiding one is.

THE ROLE
You will handle technical work across our WordPress client websites, including:
Troubleshooting WordPress issues, plugin and theme conflicts
HTML, CSS and JavaScript changes
Elementor troubleshooting and customisation
Responsive and cross-browser issues
Website speed and performance optimisation
Website migrations
Hosting, cPanel, DNS, Cloudflare and SSL
Backups and restores
Technical SEO fixes and Google Search Console issues
GA4, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads conversion tracking
Website security and general technical support
We have SOPs and processes, but we also expect you to use your own judgement.
You should be able to investigate a problem, identify the likely cause and work towards a proper fix without every step being explained to you.

WHAT WE NEED
You must have strong, hands-on experience with:
WordPress
Elementor
HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Troubleshooting and debugging
Hosting, cPanel, DNS and SSL
You should also be someone who:
Takes ownership of their work
Works independently and does not need constant follow-up
Tests their own work before calling it done
Thinks through problems before escalating them
Understands the difference between fixing a symptom and fixing the cause
Speaks up when they see a better way of doing something
Communicates early if something has gone wrong or is taking longer than expected

GOOD TO HAVE
Experience with any of these is valuable, but not required:
PHP / Laravel
WooCommerce
Cloudflare and WHM
Malware removal and website security
GA4, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads conversion tracking
Google Search Console and schema
APIs, Zapier or n8n
Git
Website performance optimisation

ROOM TO GROW
Once you have proven yourself in the hands-on role, there is real opportunity to grow into a senior technical position working closely with our CTO.
That could include:
Guiding technical decisions
Improving our SOPs and technical processes
Helping prioritise technical work
Identifying risks before they become larger problems
Acting as the technical point of contact when the CTO is unavailable
